and died at Concord, Mass. He was one of the original proprietors of Concord
and was made freeman there in 1641. It is very probable that he came with the
group of settlers to Concord that emigrated from Bedfordshire, England. Cranfield
is a small rural village in Bedfordshire, seven of eight miles southwest from
Bedford. The parish of Little Odell, about one mile north of Bedford, is where
the Rev. Peter Bulkley, the first pastor and teacher of the Concord Church originated.
A short distance southeast of Bedford is the cottage of John Bunyan. Early
in the history of Concord a part of town at or near Meriam's Corner was known
as "Cranefield".
