Wounded Knee 1973

Wounded Knee II took place in 1973, and it began as a
peaceful protest for Native American Rights. It would soon became much
more. As the U.S. government started moving in to the Wounded Knee area,
the American Indian Movement (AIM) started moving weapons into Wounded
Knee. As conflict began to appear unavoidable, many more people of all
races began moving into Wounded Knee. When conflicts started between
the Native American's and the military Wounded Knee began receiving
public attention.
In the following pages you'll learn some of the stories
of the will to survive, determination, and resourcefulness shown by
people both inside and outside Wounded Knee.
