Water rocketry is a popular and growing hobby that puts powerful rockets into the sky on the cheap. One of the unwritten rules of this hobby is that rockets must be made with parts from your trash bin, and only a few bucks at the local hardware store.  Yea, I break the rules.  Sue me.
