The first day of our visit to Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, we
made our way to the commercial wharf. We found a large, clamourous crowd being
kept off the wharf behind gates added sometime in the preceding 6 months.
Beyond the gates were more than a dozen lobster diving boats in various stages
of either off-loading at the end of a trip or loading up to head back out. |
 |
The Capt Leo was heading back out late in the
afternoon. Mark was able to interview the captain for 30 minutes or more. |

| There was also a refrigerated
container ship being loaded for its biweekly trip to Miami. We didn't know it
at the time but, by that evening, only a few boats still be at the dock; had we
shown up the next day, we'd have come away thinking it a quiet, sleepy place.
