Unexpectedly, our visit to Puerto Cabezas coincided with the first ever diving class given in Nicaragua on the Moskito Coast for the benefit of the commercial lobster divers. We were able to get inside and checkout some of the action.

Carniceria The guy in the blue shirt is the Vice-Minister of Labor. The Nicraguan Labor Ministry had been getting some heavy negative publicity from domestic and international news spotlighting the plight of the indigenous commercial lobster divers..

The first afternoon session, the class was working on gear configurations and tables. The class was scheduled for 4 days.
