For once, Bob had no agenda for the morning other than
catching our 9:30 AM flight to Miami. That meant a leisurely 7:00 AM wakeup.
Juan had already departed by the time I got up in order to catch a 6:30 AM
ferry back to La Ceiba. |

Mark's less than confidence inspiring car rental got us to

The TACA flight back to Miami was on time and the flight
uneventful. Customs and immigration were a cake walk and we were back on
American soil early that Sunday afternoon.
Mark had a hotel room for the night and I was offered a
chance to stay with them. I was hoping to catch a flight home that day so we
agreed that'd let the hotel know I was coming in case I ended up catching up
with them. Though it turned out there were no seats available to San Francisco
that day, my 4:30 AM check-in time for the next morning's flight made a stay
with Bob and Mark impractical. I used Priceline to get a $38 room near the
airport, checked in and slept the rest of the day. |

With the inane variability of travel security these days, I
had to check in at 4:30 in the morning for a 6:30 AM flight. |
