Downtown Landmarks

Old cathedral with severe earthquake damage.
A peek inside the cathedral from outside the safety barriers (noone is allowed near the building due to it's condition.

With the cathedral on the right, the pinkish building on the left is the office of the President of Nicaragua.
Statue tribute to the poet Ruben Dario.
Palacio National. The day we visited, this museum was closed due to student strikes and protests in the vicinity.

Archeological Site

This museum preserves and displays 6,000 year old foot prints made by humans and animal fleeing a volcanic eruption. The site was uncovered early in the 1900s.
