82 ABALONE FOUND IN CAR TRUNK NEAR

A driver arrested on suspicion of drunken driving near
Dimmick State Park west of Ukiah had 82 abalone in the
trunk of their car when stopped, authorities said Saturday.
According to the California Highway Patrol in Ukiah,
Israel Lino Corchado, 25, of Los Palos was arrested on
suspicion of drunken driving and being under the influence of
drugs at 8:55 p.m. Friday. The passenger in his car, Ernie
Quintara, 36, of Los Banos was arrested on several outstanding
warrants, according to the CHP.
When searching the vehicle after the arrests, officers
found 82 abalone. Fish and Game officials were called
to the scene and poaching charges were added to the
allegations against the men, according to the CHP.
