There is lots of press time being spent on "church - state" issues. The liberals want God removed from every aspect of public life. In many of the 'cases' they cite the "establishment clause" in the first amendment. Of course, as with every liberal argument, it is based on a distortion of the truth. The establishment clause sets a provision that prohibits the creation of a state church or official state religion. It's that simple. Acknowledging God, does not establish a church. Now using their own false argument about the establishment clause, Atheism is a religion and thus the removal of God would represent an establishment of religion, i.e. Atheism. What separates an Atheist from an agnostic is faith. Yes, I said "faith". An agnostic does not disbelieve in God, but rather doubts that there is a God. This is not a religion, it is indecisiveness. An Atheist absolutely denies the existence of God. This requires faith. The existence of God is not something you can disprove, so faith that he does not exist is required. Atheism is a religion. When will the conservatives in this country come out against the Atheists who are trying to "establish" a state religion of Atheism. We have never had, do not have, and never will have a state religion so long as this remains the U.S.A. It's time for the God-less nut bags to give it up and find something valuable to do with their lives. Maybe they can help the starving children in Africa or the oppressed women in the Middle East. But one thing for sure, the Ten Commandments.... let it go already. |
