Charlie Hathaway

We his Family and Friends would like to introduce you to "PaPa Charlie".

Charles A. Hathaway. A loving Father. Trusted Friend, and a fair Prospector for gold. Not only did Charlie serve as a friend of the community of Randsburg and this museum, he served as the Caretaker of the Lost Dutchman Mining Community in Dusenberg, a short distance from Randsburg, and a respected Life Time member of the Na-Da-club of California.

Many a traveling Prospector, from all corners of the United States, spent time in Charlie's camp. Around the fires at night reminiscing in Old Timer Stories of the area and expressing their hopes for success in the future. We wish not to forget the friendly wave and the big smile, and the words of encouragement we received as we departed Charlie's camp.

We shall miss him but we won't forget him. Around our Prospector's fires of the future, Charlie's smile and his laughter will be in the hearts and thoughts of all of us forever.
