The Spirit of the Market
The market is a collaboration of farmers, gardeners,
artisans, fishermen, bakers, nurserymen, and other
talented and hardworking people.
The wealth of knowledge and communal friendship is overwhelming.
The market, like all direct relationships, brings the best to both the consumer and the vendor.
Of course the consumer benefits....they get fresh picked fruits and vegetables, sometimes only hours old.
Fresh fish, caught and sold by the very fishermen to pluck it from the water.
Hand made, one-of-a-kind, local goods are sold direct to the consumer.
Yet the real benefit is to the community.
From our aging seniors to a couple vacationing for the weekend, what is better than doing
your grocery shopping outside on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in enchanting, historic Duncans Mills?
All the while the surrounding business offering up great foods and wines,
music, wonderful art galleries, great retail shopping,
classic candy, jewelry, and a plethora of other goods and services.
The market provides a place for people to support sustainablity and eat in season.
Jamie is also a horticulturist, willing to lend her knowledge and help to any
participating vendor.
