Finding ash on my car after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens sparked a series of 25 watercolor & mixed media works on the continuum: core of the earth, bedrock, mountain, clouds, & galaxy. I began using starry skies as shorthand for the vast mystery beyond our comprehension, & later painted "portraits" of constellations.
