At this year's NAMM show we celebrated our
40th year in business!
It was a festive atmosphere; we had special 40th anniversary jackets emboidered with our logo and a picture of a capo on the back, and we held drawings twice each day in which we gave them away, along with a variety of other prizes.
Mike Phelan and Raul Reynoso were on hand again this year to help staff the booth, along with sales manager Gary Mobley, my partner Dave Coontz, and myself (Rick Shubb).
We had some great talent playing music at the booth, some of whom are pictured here. The musicians who use our capos bring such amazing music to our trade show booth — and to our lives!
And no one is more amazing than John Jorgenson. Once again we were privileged to present the John Jorgenson Quintet in concert on our Friday night event, along with New West. We're still waiting for some more pictures, and maybe even some video from the Friday night show. As always, this concert was the highlight of the NAMM show for those who attended.
Marcy Marxer and Cathy Fink stopped by the booth and played some lovely old-time music.
SONiA was on a whirlwind schedule, but always finds time for us.
Terry Irons took this shot with Sonia's phone, and a couple minutes later, Sonia uploaded it. When she showed it to me on the little screen on the phone, I didn't think it was so good. Now that I look at it, I think it's a great picture. Well, as good as pictures with me in them can look, anyway.
Roger Espino played without his usual partner, Joe Calderon, who could not be there. It was interesting to hear Roger modify his style to a more rhythmic, and equally beautiful, chordal solo style in the absence of another guitar.
