We escaped the 100° temperatures inland to enjoy the views on the trail up to the top of Mt. Wittenberg, Pt. Reyes National Seashore. As anyone knows who goes to Pt. Reyes, fog or high winds can be the norm. But today we were greeted with pleasantly warm temps and an easy sea breeze. It was a great day to take in the views from Mt. Wittenberg as the air was clear and visibility was great!

To top it off, three types of berries were ripe too. We tasted thimbleberries, huckleberries and blackberries along the way.

Here we go!
We hiked through lush vegetation.
Here is the view to the east while hiking up the trail. Tomales Bay is mid-right.
Here we are at the junction of Z Ranch and Mt. Wittenberg trails near the summit. Mt. Wittenberg is the highest point in Pt. Reyes at 1407' above sea level. (And of course you actually see sea level from up here!)
