Hike: Oat Hill Mine Trail, Calistoga
Meet at 10am, Safeway parking lot corner of hiway 12 and Calistoga Road (St. Francis Center) for carpooling. Park facing Calistoga Rd.
The hike will start from a trail head at the corner of hiway 29 (main street of Calistoga) and Silverado Trail. There's parking along the road. It's listed as strenuous so our group will try for a picnic area at mile 3. Another group will be going the entire 8.3 mile round trip led by Michele. You are welcome to go with either group! If there are any leaves left, the views of the fall colors in the vineyards should be spectacular. Dress in layers, bring water and lunch.

Interesting Stuff:
NBW
|
This week is flying by and very busy, but I wanted to take some time
out to express how overjoyed I was to have completed the Mt. St. Helena
hike with all the great gals in your group. Thank you for making me
feel welcome, and for being such a hilarious, laid-back group to walk
with. I had a ball, and look forward to the next time. You can quote
me on that!
WanderWomen rock!
Best Regards,
-Natalie |

Just a quick 'thank you' to you and all the ladies for making me welcome on the hike Sunday. I really enjoyed being out, and also meeting at least some of you. It was nice to be welcomed in the manner I was - first by your email response; then by Kay who helped break the ice and also Bev, Sue and others.
I do hope to join the group again for future hikes.
Please, if you have the opportunity, pass on to the others that I was very comfortable; appreciated the way they welcomed me and hope to see everyone again.
My best,
-Nancy |
