Walnut Ave. in the vicinity of our garage, at the right. In 1963, the original concrete surface was still entirely viable, testament to a good investment the city fathers made over three decades previously. I'm not sure if any are left today. 9 Arch had mail delivery for the first time in its then 80-plus year history when the new owners installed that mailbox some time after 1987. These shots were taken at the entrance to 23 Walnut Ave., up until the late 1950s the home of our neighbors and longtime Larkspur residents Mr. and Mrs. George Cagwin. Mr. Cagwin, a retired U.S. Mint employee, celebrated his 100th birthday in 1957. At that time, their home was a virtual time capsule of orginal Arts & Crafts-style architecture and decor.
