COFFEE CUP (Not My Fault)
Copyright 1995, Pat Walp

I am sittin in the corner
trying to put it back together
I don't know how it happened
I don't know if it matters

I was staring at your picture
Hanging on the wall
your mouth was slightly open
not ready yet to fall

When there it was, in fragments on the floor
Why do things keep breaking right before my eyes
I can't take it anymore
It's not my fault
if the world is going to pieces
Not my fault, I've got no control at all
Can't compete
With the noise that never ceases
Take a seat
And let your picture fall

Well, I got up in the morning
A lonely Saturday
Yeah I can still remember
When things were not this way.

I fix myself some coffee
and pour it in my cup
it cracks and leaks all over
I stop and clean it up.

It's not my fault
if the world's in little pieces
Not my fault, I've got no control at all
Can't compete
With the noise that never ceases
Take a seat
And let your picture fall

(Bridge lyrix, spoken:)

I tried to control it ..
it just didn't happen
I tried - I really did.
I know what it looks like, but it's really .. not my fault.

(verse:)

Driving down the hiway
the mileposts zipping by
my left rear hits a road kill
it blows - i dont know why

now i'm standing by the shoulder
the rain it starts to fall
it hits me in the eyeball
there's nothing here at all

It's not my fault
That the world is going to pieces
Not my fault, I've got no control at all
Can't compete
With the noise that never ceases
Take a seat
'Cause there's nothing here at all
