Hello, and thanks for stopping by! My name is Gil Arellanes of Arealand Cattery which has been registered with the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) since 1985. I have a small cattery in northern California wine country, 90 minutes northwest of San Francisco.
My interest in purebreds began when I was a child taking care of Ruth D. Norris' cats of Rulor's Cattery for extra money. She was known for her color bred blue Persians which her cattery actually started in 1959 when she registered with CFA. I attended shows with her and have been hooked ever since.
In my breeding program, I use Persians, Exotic Shorthairs, and Exotic Longhairs. CFA, much to my disappointment, does not recognize Exotic Longhairs as Persians; TICA and the European associations DO!
