margueritte standing on the third floor deck at musee d'orsay, with a view behind her of musee du louvre across the seine. [ 18 ] we tried to be methodical in our route through the musee d'orsay. i was surprised at the amount of sculpture and furniture in the collection. peggy looked at everything, but i really only looked at paintings. i enjoyed the nymph-free work of corot, a pre-impressionist. these works seemed airy and well composed. his more numerous canvases with dancing nymphs bored me. finishing the huge ground floor of the museum we went up to the second level, examining room after room of exquisite furniture settings. ascending to the third floor we arrived at the crown jewels of the musem, rooms full of monet, degas, van gogh, cezanne and other masters of impressionism. after a breathtaking walk through these galleries we stopped for lunch in the cafe beside the terrace overlooking the seine, across the river from the musee du louvre.
