I grow four varieties fo Narcissus:

Narcissus jonquilla. This narcissus should not be confused with the common jonquil, Narcissus pseudonarcissus. This may be the reason people use the term 'Small Jonquil' to distinguish the two. The cup of these narcissi is not that large: usually half the length of the perianth petals. Each stem has 2 to 6 flowers with an utterly delicious scent. These narcissi require a sunny location.

Sweetness
Cyclamineus narcissi.Narcissi in this group have flowers angling downwards and perianth petals that are swept-back. The wild species, only 4 inches (10 cm.) tall, is rarely cultivated. Cultivars in this group have been developed as a result of crossing and selection.
