Client Information Checklist

Before committing to becoming a client this semester there are a few questions you should ask yourself.

1. Do you have the time and energy to participate as a client? Between 20 and 30 hours of time is required of the client. There are 5 mandatory meetings (each meeting can run as long as 2 hours)

There will also be a significant amount of time spent at the beginning of the project gathering the content for the site. Our team will compile the content you provide however we do not write copy, edit copy, take photos, or do research. Here are the deadlines for content

40% of the content is due within 5 weeks of class starting

80% of the content is due 7 weeks into the class

Remaining content due the 10th week of class - no content accepted after that date.

Tentative Timeline for Web site production

First meeting held - Jan 20th - 30th
at this time students begin determine what the client needs for their site, what design criteria they have, what elements from existing materials will be used (such as a logo, brochure, or photos), who the contacts are, and a rough estimate of the scope or size of the project

40% of content due - Feb 8th
this can be given to the team on disc or sent as an email, we do require that the content be given in digital form since we do not type content from print outs.

80% of content - Feb 22nd

3. Next surf the Web and research what other organizations like yours are doing. Bookmark sites which contain elements you like or dislike.

4. Finally review the Web sites we have done in the past and select a few which are your favorites. Examples of previous sites can be found at

5 . Do you have the resources to maintain the site? You will need the following resources to maintain a site?

  • Someone in the organization who can learn HTML or Dreamweaver and update the site content as needed. You must identify this person by the 8th week of the semester.
