Preliminary Client-Web Team Meeting of Redwood Empire Small Business Development Center (RESBDC)
presented by Lani Hinki
September 4, 2001- 3:00 p.m.
Agenda:
Clarify client goals and objectives for website.
What RESBDC has stated previously as site objectives:
1) Marketing RESBDC to attract prospective clients. (Tim has ideas about)
2) Make current site more interesting and attractive.
Our web team objectives for this meeting:
1a) Set date and times for next 4 meetings (very important). Everyone bring their datebooks, calenders, schedules, palmpilots, etc... so we can finalize the scheduling at this initial meeting.
1b) Set date for team to meet on-line or in person to determine size of site based on client needs, size of team and skills of group. (Meeting needs to happen week of 9/9-9/15). It may be best to set this date right after our client meeting.
2) Our Questions for RESBDC:
*What is the purpose or goal of your website?
*Who is your audience, target market, typical visitor?
*What information do you plan to include?
*What do you want to include from your existing website?
*Are additional text elements needed (background info or bios of staff & faculty)
*What graphic elements are need for site (logos, artwork, photos, other?)
*What Colors, look-and-feel, user interface, layout they are interested in?
*What print materials do you have that we should use for reference and do you have any kind of themes you already use consistently? (ie. colors, fonts, mandatory logos/graphics...)
*Do you need special features such as forms, shopping carts, searches, calender, guest books, etc..?)
*How much of this information currently exists and what form does it exist in?
*Who will provide us with this information?
*Where will the site be stored?
*Who will maintain it after the class is finished?
*Who are the primary decision makers for the project?
*What is the best way to communicate with them (phone, e-mail, in person?)
*Please provide 2-3 examples of sites you like (and would like to emulate for RESBDC's new site) and tell us what you like about them. (This is where we will go into depth about desired layout and navigation of site, so designer can get a good idea of how to proceed.)
