The frontend interfaces with the database then formats the requested information to HTML and displays it as the consultants.html page.

What I learned from the project: I've learned there are plenty of details. Most of which have little to do with code. Top of the list is the relationship with your team members and your client. Then focusing on your own part of the job and being able to ask questions and listen.

Skills: My strongest skills are in programming. The programming languages that I'm knowledgable in are ( in order of depth of knowledge ): C++, HTML, C, Assembly Language, JavaScript. I have also worked with the unix operating system both on Bash, Bourne and C shells. I have some experience writing basic shell scripts as well as C scripts.

Project Role: I functioned as one of two Content Developers in the development of the ASTD website. I was responsible for the pages associated with the following navigational headers: Forums, Consultants, Advertise and Resources. I produced the external style sheet that we used and worked to conceptualize the linking structure and standard layout of the pages.

What I learned from the project: I learned quite a bit about the business aspect of producing web pages, an area that I knew very little about at the onset of this course. Some of the more dominant themes that impacted me were: working together as a team, lag time vs. crunch time, and hand-off of the project from one stage to the next. Some of the skills that I employed and developed: use of CSS, designing interesting pages that were purely informational, the use of table structures and basic HTML.
