Project Role: Project Manager for Redwood Empire Small Business Development Center. As the PM, the organizational duties of the project were mine. I found many of the skills I possessed from previous employment situations served me well. Communication and respect for the individual personalities and work styles of the team members and the clients helped us have an extremely smooth experience in this class. I was also very fortunate to have a very skilled and professional group of people to work with, both in my team members and our client. While I enjoyed my role as the Project Manager, I did miss not having more of a "hands-on" role in the actual creation of the RESBDC Web site.

What I learned from the project: I learned that flexibility is very important in dealing with others in a teamwork situation. Everyone has to give and take somewhat; learn what each others strengths and weaknesses are, and know each other's working styles. That allows each member to do what they do best, fill in each other's "gaps," making the team stronger and more productive as a whole.
