| SRJC WEB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Final Presentations Fall 2002
Carol Ho: carolmqho@hotmail.com, (707) 527-7316 Employment Objective: To work as a Web Developer or Designer which allows me to expand my creativity and put my experience to practice. Skills: I am fairly comfortable creating web pages using the different skills I learned from courses I have taken and learning on my own. I am currently doing an internship with a music company where I help with the web pages. I also take part in aiding the designer with designs and ideas. Courses: C++, Flash, SQL, Unix, Beginning and Advanced Dreamweaver, Beginning and Advanced Photoshop, Beginning and Advanced Web Graphics, Web Content Development. Project Role: My role was the Project Manager. I acted as the mediator between team members when problems arise. I coordinated meetings and set deadlines for members. Part of my job included doing the web proposal, along with several web pages. I contributed to the website. What I learned from the project: I learned many valuable lessons from the project. I learned how to write many of the pages as if I was actually working with an a real web team. Working in teams required good communications and a good manager, who allows rooms for members to do their things and trusts their abilities.

What I learned from the project: Listening to the client and being able to interpret what they are saying they want, helping them along the way with different twists to what they are saying, and turning that vision into a reality. Also, (from Linda) I learned how to say "No" to client in a nice way.
Anne Petteford: petteford@earthlink.net, 707-823-2939 Employment Objective: I plan to work as a team member in an educational environment, providing administrative and website maintenance and support. Skills: I can use Photoshop and ImageReady, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Acrobat, HTML, Dreamweaver, Homesite, FrontPage, and Flash to create and maintain web sites.I can work on a PC or Mac. I have extensive client and customer relations experience, and background in the arts. Courses: Beginning and Intermediate Photoshop, Imageready, Beginning and Intermediate Illustrator, Acrobat, Beginning Flash, Windows, Access, Telecommunications, Beginning and Advanced HTML, Begining and Advanced Dreamweaver, Front Page, Begining and Advanced Web Graphics Projects, Principles of Screen Design, Web Project Management. Project Role: On this project, I provided the graphic design for the site: I created mockups, revisions and a final design for home and second level pages, with remote rollovers and flyout menus to allow one click access to any page on the site. I created a graphic look to further the client goals of friendly, easily accessible, service-oriented campus business. What I learned from the project: Patience, understanding, and deadlines are important to team work. The ability to do any job necessary to move the project forward is important. Good web sites require strong alignment and infinite attention to detail.
Ivan Todd: ivanova888@earthlink.net, 707-569-1456 Employment Objective: I am not interested in pursuing web design as a career, I wanted to fulfill the requirement for the HTML certificate for my personal benefit. Skills: I taken photoshop A and B, illustrator, and I proficient in the macintosh. Courses: I have competed the 10 hours to fulfill the HTML completion certificate. Project Role: I served as one of the content developers. I was responsible for the story board, shell site and the content for 8 out of the 17 pages of the SRJC bookstore web site. What I learned from the project: I learned that team work can be difficult, but it was more important not to bail out when you thought the ship was sinking. The project looked impossible at times, but I learned not to give up because that option was to easy.

I was also assigned to create the ssi-code and the css-code for that site. What I learned from the project: I learned specially how to work in a team. I realized that its not always easy to communicate effectively in a team and with the client. I know what I have to improve and how to behave the next time when i will have to work for a client.
