| SRJC WEB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Final Presentations Fall 2002
Bonnie Chun: bmonicac@earthlink.net, 707 542-3797 Employment Objective: Seeking full time (but not limited to) employment at progressive company, utilizing my design skills in web development, graphic design or html with opportunity for growth based on performance- preferably within the Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Sonoma or Novato area. Skills: I have skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Pagemaker, Quark, InDesign and some Flash. I have 8 years experience in graphic design and have produced corporate identity systems, brochure, software manuals, advertising sales pieces, magazine design, silk screen design, and signage systems. I have a solid knowledge of typography, color and have 4-c and spot color printing experience. Courses: I have completed all courses required for the SRJC Web Certificate Program for graphic design. I plan to continue taking courses related to digital art, multimedia, and desktop publishing. Project Role: I throughly enjoyed working as the designer for the SRJC Puente Project. I enjoyed every aspect of the design development, application and implementation of the site as well as working with the client and my teammates. I also took on some of the Project Manager's responsibilities as needed which I found enjoyable. What I learned from the project: This course has been an incredible and valuable learning experience for me as a designer, business person and personally. I've learned new techniques for future design applications as well as planning/organizational concepts which are applicable to any occupation. From a business aspect, understanding people's goals and motivation is an key in defining your purpose. Understanding your own goals and motivation will define what you will produce. I look forward to gaining new skills and experience in this medium.
Patricia Seaton: pseaton@sbcglobal.net, (707) 537-0437 Employment Objective: My objective is to upgrade with web development skills and programming my 16 year career as a computer professional. Skills: I provided the HTML expertise and Basic programming for an intranet site page generator for my company. I have 16 years total programming experience in Information Basic (universe environment - Unix & NT) in RPG (AS400, Sys/36), plus a well-rounded knowledge of personal computer applications and financial accounting. Courses: Web courses taken include HTML (A&B, Telecommunications (A&B), and this course as Web Content Development. I will have the HTML Developer Certificate this semester. I have a Computer Programming Certificate and AA and have taken numerous computer classes and accounting. I plan to pursue the Javascript Developer Certificate. Project Role: I was one of two content developers on the team. We obtained content from the client and worked it into the templates created by the designer. I created an information request form and also provided the beginnings of a Javascript calendar for the site. What I learned from the project: This project gave me the chance to work in a specific role having defined tasks on a web development team. I learned that communication is paramount, both between team members and between the team and the client. I have a better understanding of and appreciation for the development process.
Kent Ward: kmikee@hotmail.com, (707) 792 9672 Employment Objective: To obtain a job in web development, particularly in graphic design. Skills: Entry level web design. I have learned how to build web sites using Photoshop and ImageReady. I have learned the basics of HTML. Courses: Adobe Photoshop (A, B, C, & upgrade), HTML (A & B), Graphics for the web (A & B), Computer Graphics, Principles of screen design, Intro to telecommunications, Internet Marketing, Computer hardware (A & B). Project Role: Content Developer: Added content to six pages on the Puente Project site. What I learned from the project: How to work effectively with a team, and the necessity to be pro-active in addressing problems and keeping the project on schedule.
