Stephen Rodier: serodier@sonic.net, 573-4781

Employment Objective: I would like to work where I can help develop and design websites while learning more skills. I know both web and print graphics and what the difference is between them.

Skills: I worked as a printer for 30 years creating files and preparing customer files for output. I know Quark and Adobe Creative Suite 3 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat) HTML, CSS and Dreamweaver

Courses: I have taken HTML 1 & 2, CSS, Dreamweaver 1 & 2 Web Graphics, Advanced Web Graphics, Photoshop 1 & 2, Illustrator 1 & 2, Principles of Screen Design and Web Content Development.

Project Role: I created the shell site from content supplied by the client. I was responsible for inputting all the English content within the template the designer (Tona) made. I communicated constantly with the designer during this process about every change that was necessary in the design. I carried out the equipment testing and the classmate testing, prepared the final CD and will transfer the site to the clients server

What I learned from the project: Working with a team is much different than working alone. I learned the necessity of communication and reporting progress. I also learned more about developing content in a design that is not your own.

They chose the one they liked best and we worked closely to fine tune all the details. I personally decided as usually to create a site that could be modified by the client with relative ease.

What I learned from the project: I learned many things including the importance in keeping close contact with the members of the team. My experience has been to do everything myself and not work in a website team. In this case we have clear and distinct roles in which we are not to intrude upon others duties.

Sally Archambault: billsall@comcast.net, 707/337-6675

Employment Objective: Web Design and Development

Skills: I am detail oriented, handle multiple tasks and deadlines well, self-motivated and dedicated. I have thirty years of computer experience beginning with a degree in CS in 1977. The last six years, learning web design and programming with education and experience in HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady, Adobe Illustrator, VBScript, ASP, MS Access.

Courses: Santa Rosa Junior College, CA (December 2005 - Current) Major: Web Designer: HTML, XHTML, CSS, Photoshop, Web Graphics, Telecommunications, Screen Design, Illustrator, Flash, Electronic Portfolio UC Santa Cruz, BA 1977: Major: Computer Science

Coordinated the color scheme, selected font, determined image placement, and had final review of all page layouts. Reviewed, selected and adjusted client photos. Also, provided some original photography for site. Team and client meetings (in person and email). Acted as programmer: selected ISP, programmed use of Google software for search and calendar functions, implemented Flash and Quicktime videos on site.

What I learned from the project: Had a wonderful team for this project and felt so lucky because of that. Wonderful client. I learned that is important to include the client's IT person from the beginning to determine environment variables, and to review Flash and/or video requirements in greater detail.

Rachel Thurow: rachelthurow@comcast.net, 707-433-3270

Employment Objective: Right now I am employed as a Junior Systems Administrator for O'Reilly Media, Inc. I really enjoy the work.

Skills: I have experience with HTML, CSS, Linux, Unix, and Perl. I was a Junior Web Producer for about 6 months. I can work with both Macs and PCs. I have the ability to think on my feet and multi-task. I always like to learn on the job, I feel I can gain many valuable tools from my co-workers that have been there longer.

Courses: Linux/Unix Certificate, through the O'Reilly School of Technology. HTML Certificate, through SRJC. Web Project Management, through SRJC. Electronic Technician Certificate, through SRJC.

Project Role: I was the content developer for the Willow Creek Treatment Center project. I followed up with the client as to what content she would like on the website. I took the code from the layout designer and built the website using the template. I was also involved with the project manager, to ensure everything went smoothly.

What I learned from the project: Communication is KEY! Sometimes people will say one thing, but mean another. Having proper email skills is another technique that is important in today's business world. It is better to have a short email with proper punctuation and complete sentences, than a long email with a lot of fragments and sentences all in caps!

Project Role: As Project Manager, I produced the website development project website, scheduled client and team meetings and workflow, compiled the website development proposal and bid, tested the finished site with typical users, and coordinated the delivery of the website to our client, including a client manual and electronic files.

What I learned from the project: The positive experience of this project reinforced my desire to work mainly with non-profit organizations. The development of the client website was much more work intensive than I had imagined (with most of the work done by our designer and content developer!), and what kept us motivated, I think, was the certainty that we were working to increase the visibility of and access to an organization that provides such valuable services in our society.

Project Role: In this project, I took on the role of Project Manager. I kept communication going throughout my team. I made sure deadlines were met and assignments were done correctly and completely.

What I learned from the project: I learned a lot about this project. For instance, how to get along with a group you are assigned to work with. How to get along and work with a client. To accommodate and compromise on issues and topics with teammates and a client. And most of all, a good idea of how this "market" is run. The steps in which you take to produce a website with a client.

Dax Talbert: daxter@att.net, 707-849-4097

Employment Objective: I really enjoy creating websites and having a little fun customizing them, but as for employment in this field, I would rather go a different direction. It is more of a hobby that I have found out. At the end of this class I realized I didn't want to be sitting so long at a computer doing web design, but as a hobby when I can work on it here and there without a deadline, I would love to work on it.

Skills: This is a broad subject, I have skills in reading HTML, I can understand anything in html, when it gets into javascript and programming, I have no idea what is going on. So those are some classes that I will have to follow up. I love flash websites, but it is a completely different ball game then just html. I need to learn programming and much more. I am really good in photoshop. I love to create my own graphics and things. I don't have a clue how to create a web page though and import it into Illustrator though. So more learning there.

Courses: I have taken many courses. I received my Associates Degree last spring, and I was going for some certificates, but I will be starting Expressions the digital arts college in Emmeryville this coming Spring in 2008. ANTHRO 1 ART 7A ART 51.2 ASTRON 3 ASTRON 12 CI 51 CIS 58.51A CIS 58.51B CIS 73.31 COUN 61 COUN 370 ELEC 88.81 ENGL 1A ENGL 100 HIST 17.2 INTDIS 2 MATH 27 MATH 155 PHIL 3 PHYED 31.1 PHYED 80.1 POLS 1 POLS 1 PSYCH 1A PSYCH 3 SPAN 1 SPCH 60 WRKEX 97 WRKEX 97

Project Role: I was in charge of inputting all the content within the template the designer (Joy) did. I also did many changes that needed to be done as the client went through the final webpages correcting things here and there. I helped out wherever I was needed, and so far all is well. :)

What I learned from the project: Well I learned how specific we as designers, content developers, project leaders, need things. There is so much information we need to start on a site and we constantly need to be in communication no matter what. I learned how we all need to get along with team leaders and clients. If that doesn't work from the beginning, then we won't get anywhere. I would say the final thing is these sort of projects take lots of time. :)

Joy Olsen: olsen@sonic.net, 707 538-1231

What I learned from the project: Working with a team is much different than working by yourself in a vacuum. It requires communication and patience working with team members and finesse dealing with clients. Organization is critical through every step of the process·and a sense of humor!

Courses: Business web development photo shop 1, 2, 3 html 1,2 web graphics 1, 2 illustrator 1, 2 Digital Photography 1

Also I think the best rule is keep it simple, you can always add more later. The more complicated you start out trying to be the harder it will be to just get started.

Matthew Brady: brady.matthew@comcast.net, 707-479-1226

Employment Objective: Web Developer/Web Database Developer utilizing my background in HTML/XHTML, AJAX, SQL and related programming languages.

Skills: Strong HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and database experience. Experience with creating and maintaining Microsoft Access environment database, UI, and SQL interactions. These courses will lead to certifications in: Web Project Management, Dreamweaver, ASP, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and PHP.

Project Role: Project Manager and Programmer

What I learned from the project: Communicate. You can't communicate too much. You can send too many email but that's not communication. Think win-win, I learned that it's better to be proactive than reactive, develop and agree on the vision of the site. I also learned how to better visualize, prioritize, synergize with my team members and client. I even learned more CSS, PHP, and JavaScript so, I guess I almost got all seven habits of highly effective people covered during this course...
