Employment Objective: Something challenging, interesting and fun that I can do as a freelancer. In an ideal world, it would involve electronics, software, video, rich media and the web.

Skills: Long career in technical software and micro-circuit hardware development for major electronic instrument manufacturer; created automated test/manufacturing software and embedded-controller firmware in RF & microwave test/measurement instruments. Lifelong still photographer and printer. Also a skilled videographer/editor of 15 years, occasionally doing wedding and event videography.

Courses: Hard-Knocks Academy (i.e. self-taught) of Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop. However, thanks to my career having been shipped to Malaysia, I've had the opportunity to pursue the SRJC ASP Certificate, taking classes such as Active Server Pages, Web Content Development, Business of Web, C++, HTML, Telecommunications, Access Database and XML/XSLT.

Project Role: Provided programming services to four projects. Mostly it involved integration of existing server-side scripts to create features such as calendars and forms-processing. I re-wrote a small JavaScript random image display to enable displaying three images, however the client did not embrace my "more is better" philosophy, and scaled it back to one. On another of the projects, I used JavaScript to hide E-mail addresses from harvesting by spambots.

What I learned from the project: I learned how to manage: being part of four highly-visible class projects; being involved in two other demanding classes; and being a house-husband, father, pet-sitter, home-repairman, and Little League team videographer!
