HTML CERTIFICATION EXPLAINED
The HTML Certification Process is worth 500 points and is required for you to pass CIS 58.54 and receive certification in HTML. The 500 points is broken down in the following manner.
3 online exams each worth 100 points.
A 100 point oral exam given by your instructor in which you are asked to explain the HTML code of a page you created for the client or the team.
Finally 100 points are assigned for the creation of the pages of the client's site if you are a Content Developer and for the Project site, if you are a Project Manager. If this creation went smoothly all 100 points will be assigned. If your technical or communication skills were lacking points will be deducted.

You will meet me in my office (2939 Maggini Hall) or in the lab in Petaluma and we will sit down at a computer. I will ask the CDs to enter the URL for a Web page they have made for the client site. We will view the source code, starting at the top of the page and working our way down the page, I will ask what various tags are used for, what the name of an image file might be and where it is stored, what the .css file is doing, etc...
If you have looked at the code and understand what it is doing you will be fine. If you just trusted in Dreamweaver and have no idea what the code means this could be a real challenge for you.
I will not be asking anything about the javascript code created in the rollover or pop out menus.
I will be asking for the table structure of the page
The PMs who take the test will be asked to visit a page of the project site they created and answer the same questions.
