Web Design Certificate by December, 2000. Project Role: As the project designer, I worked with my team members to identify the goals, market and hierarchy of the web site. I manipulated the supplied digital graphics and photographs in Photoshop and Illustrator to create the logo, photo vignettes, navigational rollovers, map, miscellaneous graphic elements and site template. I assisted in proofreading and layout of copy. Some of this collaboration was done online. What I learned from the project: My organizational skills improved through keeping team emails, meeting notes and design notes which I often referred to in developing the site. The design sketches, lists, and notes were invaluable as my design changed and improved. I learned how to better listen and articulate with my team members and how to become more diplomatic in problem solving. I also learned Photoshop in a deeper way, which can only be done through continual practice. Perserverence is a great teacher.

Project Role: My role on our project was the content developer. I loaded in the files given to us by the client and wrote code for various parts of the site. It was my job to fit all of the content in place while being true to the designer's vision. What I learned from the project: I learned how to work on a team to fulfill the objectives we established with our client for the type of web site required. My job was to help the site remain true to the design created by our designer and work within the framework she created. This project aided me in working with a diverse team of virtual strangers to produce an effective professional product.
