What I learned from the project:

Sandra Chatham: roseroyse@yahoo.com, 707-526-7673

Employment Objective: Independent Contractor for Web Development and Design. I am particularly interested in developing sites for the travel, hospitality and entertainment industries.

Skills: Web Marketing and Search Engine strategies. Site design and development for small business. I am strong in organizational skills and architecture. I have a good understanding of Photoshop and Image Ready. I use DreamWeaver, Flash and FireWorks.

Courses: PhotoShop, ImageReady, Illustrator, Graphics for the web, PageMaker, FileMaker Pro, HTML.

Project Role: Project Manager. I developed the architecture for the SRJC Foundation Site in DreamWeaver. I worked with Christina on content development and uploaded the site for testing. Our team discussed each assignment and worked together through each phase of the site development. This course gave our team members giant leaps forward in our teamwork skills.

What I learned from the project: Listening to the client very carefully at the beginning. Requesting the content on disk and checking it immediatly for accuracy. Making and keeping clear agreements and setting deadlines. Getting things signed off as completed before going to the next stage of development. These 4 rules are now installed permanently on the hard drive in my brain.

Christina Van Krugel: cjvankru@ap.net, 707/933-0284

Employment Objective: My objective is to find a job that utilizes my current skills with a view toward learning new skills on the job. I am a novice in many respects and well-seasoned in others and I would like to find a job that utilizes more than just scratching out HTML.

Skills: My skills include a fairly deep understanding of Photoshop and Painter and Bryce. I am gaining on Dreamweaver and Fireworks and hope to add Flash to the mix soon. I have a good understanding of HTML and my natural sense of style is good, carrying me through when my technical skills are short. I have been an artist all my life and can render quickly and easily.

Courses: Art 18.1, Art 18.2 (3 times), Art 54 (2 times), beginning Photoshop and Intermediate Photoshop, Beginning HTML, Advanced HTML, Web Content Practicum.

Project Role: I was the content developer and co-project manager at the end of the project. My role, I think, may have been to give some cohesion to the group after our first project manager dropped out of the class. I did nothing special but I think my small amount of recommitment made a difference and we all stuck it out and did a pretty good job. I got to edit in Dreamweaver, something I have never done before. That was great. The people I worked with were all much more experienced that I so I had a chance to really learn a lot.

What I learned from the project: The skill I learned that is the most valuable from this class is to learn that I have a lot to offer as far as an employee. I have perserverance and I really love the web.
