William Hackett: hackett@sonic.net, 707.206.0732

Employment Objective: I will be continuing degree, marketing and computer-related studies this fall. Also, I am seeking an internship with a multimedia or web design firm.

Skills: I am proficient with a variety of digital tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, BBEdit, MS Word, with many others. I have excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Courses: Completed courses include Web Design (HTML, SSI, CSS), Flash, Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, BBEdit, Web Graphics, Production Techniques, Typography, Digital Art, Screen Design, Telecommunications, Web Content Development and Business of Website Production.

Project Role: I was the designer and interim project manager. Beyond the creation of graphic images, my design role was to consult with our client and the rest of the team to determine and solve our design-related problems. As interim project manager, my role was to direct final data changes and to perpetuate a harmonious workflow while our project manager celebrated a birthday in Europe.

What I learned from the project: This experience underscored the importance of soft skills (essentially the ability to work well with others): leadership, effective communication, the ability to listen, empathy, tactfulness and patience. Although every team is unique—no matter what the dynamics—soft skills seem paramount.

Shooklin Chung: shooklin@yahoo.com, (707) 570-2062

Employment Objective: To be self-employed.

Skills: JavaScript, ASP VBScript, C++, ColdFusion, SQL, Advance Access, FileMaker Pro, HTML, Dreamweaver, MS Office.

Courses: Completed AS and AA degree, Web Site Development certificates with emphasis on programming in May 2001.

Project Role: Programmer. I created a calendar using Active Server Pages (ASP) VBScript and JavaScript. I also implemented a JavaScript slide show. In addition, I created a question form that is to be processed by ColdFusion. Besides, I conducted the equipment testing for the site.

What I learned from the project: I learned the importance of attitude, communication, and team work while working towards a specified goal. I also gained real working experience in web site development from the start to completion of an entire web site.

Kathryn Hogan: hogan.kathryn@att.net, 707-545-7805

Employment Objective: I plan to receive the Graphic Web Design Certificate in the fall. I would like to work as an independent designer or for a company.

Skills: My skills consist of HTML, Graphics, Photoshop, Illustrator, Homesite, and other office oriented software. I plan to complete my online portfolio, Dreamweaver, Flash, and the Business of Web Design next semester. I am friendly, versatile, creative, and hard working.

Courses: The courses I have completed are Intro to Telecommunications; Photoshop Iⅈ Intro to Applied Graphics; HTML Iⅈ Online Web Art; Computer Concepts (includes: photoshop, illustrator, pagemaker, and painter); Photography Iⅈ Web Graphics Iⅈ Web Content; and Principles of Screen Design.

Project Role: My project role for the NBCCC site was Content Developer. I was in charge of compiling and organizing the content for the "Roundtable Info" pages and the "History" page and editing elements within these pages. I also wrote up the Training Manual for our client and managed the Typical User Testing.

What I learned from the project: I learned a great deal about teamwork, communication, and working with a variety of different people who have different working methods. I learned that the design of a site presents the overall feel and aesthetic quality and that lack of content can take away from this tremendously. Content is key. Design is the expression of that content.
