Employment Objective: a position in web programming and developing with JAVA, ASP, SQL, HTML

Skills: JAVA, ASP, SQL, HTML, C++, Java,Javascript, VB, AutoCAD, Photoshot, Perl/CGI, FORTRAN, Windows, UNIX, LINUX

Courses: SQL, Access, C++, Java, Photoshop, HTML, UNIX, Telecommunications

Project Role: PACT Programmer: created Guestbook and Admin pages which utilize ASP, JAVA Script, VB Script, SQL to connect Web server to the database and set up the first testing site.

What I learned from the project: The whole process for the web site development: from meeting the client to the final site equipment test; How to finish the project (first testing site) before deadline; Team work

John Thibault: johnthibault@hotmail.com, 707 579 4378

Employment Objective: To gain a full time position as a web/graphic designer; I also hope to develop websites on the side from home in the future.

Skills: I have been a steady computer user for only 2 years now. In that time I've gained a great deal of knowledge in software programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Pagemaker.

Courses: I've been enrolled in the Web Development program since Spring 2000 semester, and have only one course left to take, which I will in the summer.

Project Role: As the designer I was responsible for determining the look/feel of the site, based on the information provided by the client.

What I learned from the project: I found that effective team communication, and remaining organized are the key elements in meeting deadlines, and that each person's respective role on the team is dependent on each other's.

Karl Ensminger: agua_pepe@hotmail.com, 707-542-8775

Employment Objective: I am currently in the process of seeking an internship of a part time nature. In the future I would like to work as a full time member or solo as a web designer/content developer.

Skills: Thru my classes at SRJC I have developed my design skills with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash 5.0 and Image ready. I have also gained knowledge in the use of html editors such as Homesite and BBedit. I am comfortable on both platforms PC and MAC.I have continued to expand on my knowledge of CSS and DHTML. This summer I plan to expand my software knowledge by attending classes for Dreamweaver. I am working hard to expand my knowledge base for todays demands on web design professionals.

Courses: I have completed many courses already on my road to a certificate. I have completed html and dhtml, Photoshop, Intermediate Photoshop, Illustrator, Designing graphics for the web, Content Practicum, Flash 5.0, Image Ready, and some others that escape my mind at this point.

Project Role: My main project roll was content developer, which included fixing the dreaded image ready html code so it would be usable for our site. I was responsible for the placement and format of the content of the parents section and the pact history page. I was also responsible for the cascading style sheet. It was alot of fun to create but unfortunately when it came down to the testing of the site the browsers couldn't handle it, so a large portion had to be change and simplified. Oh well, some day CSS will be a tool we can use in its entirety.

What I learned from the project: Have several email addresses ready to go, never trust that the email was sent correctly the first time, never think for one second that you are finished there is always more to due.

jason ellis: murmurs@sonic.net, 707 571-8472

Employment Objective: I hope to gain and internship or full time position at a web design or graphic company with the skills I have learned in this certificate program.

Skills: Thus far I have become proficient in HTML and gained much knowledge in PhotoShop. I am now able to create my own simple websites as well as create graphics for them. Working on this project as a team has improved my people skills and inspired me to pursue a career working in a similar atmosphere.

Courses: I have completed both A & B HTML courses and A & B PhotoShop courses. I have also completed Computer Graphics Concepts and Intro. to Telecommunications. Next semester I plan to continue my studies in Web Technology and Computer Graphics.

Project Role: My role in this class has been Content Developer. I was responsible for taking our clients raw data and implementing it into our designers template. I also created the sites Production Standards and updated them as needed.

What I learned from the project: The most valuable thing I learned as far as HTML was how to implement content into a design template correctly. My understanding and appreciation for the use of HTML tables has been greatly increased. I also learned a lot more about the use and functions of CSS. The ability to work well with a team and meet deadlines was perhaps the most valuable lesson of this course over all.

Donald St. Denis: don_sunshine@yahoo.com, 707/575-1557

Employment Objective: To continuously improve and develop new skills for the purpose of returning faster, higher quality results to my clients.

Skills: My skills are in the areas of UNIX/LINUX and Windows Platforms. I am expert in the programming languages: HTML, C, PERL, Javascript and Assembler. I have also programmed in Java, ASP, PHP, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. My next steps in developing my skills are in the area of Design (Photoshop/GIMP) and Database Management.

Courses: Business of Web Mangement (at the SRJC)

Project Role: I was the Project Manager for this site. I promoted and maintained communications between: 1) Project Team Members (John Thibault, Karl Ensminger, Jason Ellis, and Benjamin Bian); 2) Client (Ann Parsons, Maya Richardson, and Stephanie McGovern at PACT); 3) Production Engineering (Candace Maddux, Paul Klonski, and Robert Mandel Sonoma County ISP Services).

What I learned from the project: The Project Manager's job is to recognize both the strengths and weaknesses that all team members bring to a project (including the Client!). The PM must maximize utilization of strengths and encourage stretching (to benefit team members skills for everyone's benefit) to deliver the web site.
