Sonal Shah: sonal_h_shah@hotmail.com, (707)542-3389 Employment Objective: I am seeking a challenging career in web design & development with a strong emphasis on client & server programming. Skills: I will be completing the required coursework for a career certificate in Web Site Development. My skill-set will include in-depth knowledge of HTML / DHTML, basic know-how of Unix, principles of RDBMS and SQL, and web scripting languages such as javascript and perl. Additionally, I am learning (self-study) to integrate databases to web sites using tools such as ePerl / MySQL / PHP in conjunction with Apache web server. Courses: HTML A & B, Telecommunication, Access, C++, SQL, UNIX, Perl, Web Content Practicum. Project Role: As a Project Manager, I conceptualized the Web Site along with my teammates. I coordinated the efforts between the group members to ensure timely results. What I learned from the project: I learnt to communicate with the client which was a good experience. Even learnt how to work with the team and trying to coordinate with each other. The most important thing I learnt was to meet deadlines.
Alison Dennis: ShareBear1@aol.com, 778-7015 Employment Objective: Internship or Part-time in web design where I can apply what I've learned, and gain "real life" experience. Skills: I'm proficient in HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. I can also work on both PC and Mac platforms. Courses: HTML A&B Photoshop A&B Illustrator A&B Dreamweaver A I'm also currently working on "Principals of screen design," and need only an internship in web design to be certified as a web designer. Project Role: My project role was designer. I listened to what the client wanted, as far as site layout and design, and provided it to them. I was responsible for the layout of the individual pages, the images, construction of the site template, and the logo. I also created the letterhead and envelope layouts. What I learned from the project: From the project I learned to more effectively use written and oral communication skills with clients and team members. I also learned time management skills, and client/developer interaction guidelines.

I hope to work on a variety of projects, both independently, as as a part of interesting teams. Skills: In addition to my excellent grasp of HTML, and basic digital image handling, I am a creative, organized, and reliable solutions maker. My skills for independent, and team work have been proven as a computer skills tutor, and as a psychiatric technician. Courses: HTML Web Design, Web Content Development, Photoshop (beginning & intermediate), Graphics Concepts, BA (cum laude) Studio Arts, and AS (cum laude) Psych Tech Project Role: As a Content Developer, I worked with my team, and the client to organize content, structure the site, and ensure that the code worked when plugged into the designer's templates. What I learned from the project: I learned to make rollover effects in Dreamweaver, actually learned to use Dreamweaver, and learned to function as an integral part of this team while making a website from "scratch". |
