| SRJC Web Development Program Final Presentations Spring 2002
Allan Ferreira: alray@ap.net, 707-869-1013 Employment Objective: I will use the skills and training developed at SRJC to go into designing web sites either for myself or for a web design firm. Skills: I have a BA in Speech/Communications, a proficiency in web design skills and have served in management level positions for over twenty years. This gives me a well-rounded background to serve in any corporation or in my own company. Courses: The courses that I have had include: Photoshop(Beginning, Intermediate, advance); Illustrator(Beginning, Intermediate); HTML(Beginning, Intermediate; Dreamweaver(Beginning, Intermediate); Web Design(Beginning, Intermediate); and, the Business of Web Design. I will be taking Telecommunications, Electronic Portfolio and Flash classes in the fall. Project Role: I am the Project Manager for the Petalumans of Yesteryears Web Site which means I coordinate and compile the efforts of all team working on the project and present it as a unified whole entity. As part of my responsibilities I also designed and executed the Project Web Site for Petalumans of Yesteryears. What I learned from the project: I learned how to first work as a team member and still co- ordinate the efforts of the rest of the team. , I learned how to illicit the best from the members of my team and myself, and finally, how and when to step back and be an observer and watch because the project also has a life of its' own.
Sean Robert: Hcat2@aol.com, 707-529-2383 Employment Objective: To work in the field as a designer and to give myself the opportunity to use creativity in my day to day job. Skills: I've learned programs like Photoshop and Illustrator as they have aided my focus on design. I work in Adobe Go Live as my Html editor, but also am able to code basic Html. Paramount of all my skill is perhaps drawing which I of course utilize in design. Courses: I've taken Photoshop to the intermediate level as well as Illustrator; I've taken the HTML classes as well as a class on Telecommunications; Classes specifically on design and a resume skills as they relate to the web; and a this class geared towards the real life application of web design. Project Role: My roll in the project was as designer. I strove to make a site which best served the client and the people for whom the site was intended to be used by. What I learned from the project: I learned the process by which a real site is created in the industry and the multiple steps involved. The rolls and responsibilities pertaining to each individual on the team were skills I learned in order to complete the process.
Jorge Lara: robert_17_99@yahoo.com, (707)781-6832 Employment Objective: To obtain a career in computer science in general, meaning anything from graphics, networking, programming and or web- development. One of my main goals is to expand my skills as the years go on. Skills: I have been designing web-sites since 2000. Recently I was hired by a local company to built and take care of website for the business. This being my first job in the computing industry. This job and this class combined have given me the many skills and experience I need for the future. Courses: HTML-Beginning and advanced. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced Photoshop; which also led to the certification for the program. Beginning Image Ready. Beginning and Intermediate Dreamweaver which will get me the certificate at the end of this semester. FrontPage2000 another course that will give me another certification. In addition I have also take 3 networking classes including: Intro to Telecommunications, Intro to UNIX, and a DOS command class. In the programming side I have taken Beginning Visual Basic 6. Project Role: As the Content Developer I was assigned to code a number of pages in HTML. I also did some JavaScript for the site did the assignments intended for the programmers. What I learned from the project: I think the most important thing I learned about this project is that communication is one of the most important things to have in mind, because without communication the project has lots of chances to not be effective at all. | |||||||||||||||
