Employment Objective: Put to flight “Kestrel Designs,” a freelance Web Design Business. Work with clients from diverse industries to create original art, photography and graphic layout of content, banners and logos for effective web sites.

Skills: Dynamic, results-oriented problem solver offers highly refined web site development skills and project management expertise to organizations wishing to develop an effective presence on the Internet. Can perform technical coding, review and testing. Coordinates and supervises all phases of production, layout, research and development and quality control. Works closely with business owners to conceptualize, design and launch Internet sites to promote company goals.

Project Role: Originally the Designer… took on roles of Faux Programmer and Project Manager as semester progressed. Created the look and feel of the website based on our client’s visions and objectives. Developed templates for all pages. Composed Website Proposal and List of Deliverables. Created DHTML rollover menus, JavaScript slide show, Guestbook and Contact Form. Ensured that all programming achieved Disabled User Accessibility Compliance and that site is cross-browser/platform compatible.

What I learned from the project: Learned that flexibility is crucial in this industry and that having the ability to wear many hats can save your soul. Developed a greater appreciation for dependable team members (Thank you Nora!). Experienced the rewards of working with a stupendous client. (Good luck turtles!)

Employment Objective: Initially to find an internship or entry level position as a Web designer/developer that will develope my practical (as compared to technical) job skills.

Project Role: As Content Developer I collected the copy from the client and put it in the web pages. I created a storyboard and gathered and coalated the production standards. I created online testing documents for our classmate testing, gathered and coalated the data, wrote a report and worked with my team members to decide on and impliment changes.

What I learned from the project: I learned some of the lessons that school genenerally doesn't teach: Working as a team member, Communicating, Working with a client, Managing my time, Meetings 101, Following directions, Making decisions, Redoing work Parts A,B & C.
