SRJC Web Development Program
Christal Christensen: christal@sonic.net, 707.292.6399 Employment Objective: I am looking to provide print, web and advertising design services for small businesses on a free lance basis. Skills: My skills lie in the realm of designing for print and web. I have taken many courses in design conception and have received my BA in Electronic Communication Arts from San Francisco State University. Courses: Illustrator I, II and III Photoshop ImageReady PageMaker Quark Dreamweaver I and II FrontPage Flash I and II HTML I and II Premiere After Effects Excel Word Outlook Project Role: I worked as a designer for the Social Advocates for Youth site. I was responsible for templates, rollovers, navigation, logos and all graphics associated with the site. What I learned from the project: I learned a amount about the entire process of developing a website and how a team comes together to help in all areas of the site. This client was a dream to work with so I learned that a having a great client makes any job easier. The best part about the site is that it made the client happy and Sonoma County a little better place because this medium will reach troubled youth in the area.
Philippe Pierry: philpierry@yahoo.fr, 707 795 21 56 Employment Objective: I look for any kind of job which allows me to expand my creativity as a Web developer. I would like also to join a team in order to continue to improve my English. Skills: I am fairly comfortable creating and maintaining web
pages with software I mention bellow. I'm learning fast. I'm also a "verifier"
meaning I pay attention of tiny details. I'm highly motivated and dependable
to achieving set goals. I work effectively both as a team member and individually.
Courses: At SRJC, I made these classes: HTML, Dreamweaver MX,
Flash MX, Photoshop 7 Advanced Concepts, Web Content Development, Virus
Protection, Font Management. I have also a very good experience in Photography
that I learned in France (but for this web site, I had another role).
Project Role: I was responsible of creating a shell site with the text supplied by the client. I participated to organize the storyboard and the production standards. I adjusted the template provided by the designer and converted the shell site into the web pages. I installed a "contact SAY" form with a CGI program that allows the visitor to email message to SAY organization. I conducted two testing site: with my classmates and with different equipment/software. As our project manager left the class during the semester, I anticipated and coordinated the project within my team. What I learned from the project: I learned that communication stays the key of the success for a project. "You are the glue that holds this team together" told me another classmate. But I simply like when a client is happy. I learned also that a web site takes time to fulfill but I'm not afraid of that: I'm a worker. I need also to pay attention spending a little more time with my family...
Joshua Greer: laughing_tree@msn.com, 7075697294 Employment Objective: I am working towards a graphic web design certificate, so I can offer my services to small businesses on a freelance basis. Skills: I have completed the Web Content Developer Certificate program, which includes training in HTML coding and an understanding of Telecommunications. I also have experience with Photoshop, and am proficient in English. Courses: I have taken beginning and advanced HTML, beginning Photoshop, Telecommunications, Web Content Development, a number of English classes and a course in Communiations. Project Role: I was the content developer for the Social Advocates for Youth website. My duties included taking part in developing the storyboard and production standards, text and image formatting, content alterations, and testing. What I learned from the project: I learned that working with a team can be very rewarding and challenging. Luckily my team has been supportive and positive, so our overall effort has been rewarded with a successful website and a happy client. We worked through some communication issues, which goes a long way in creating a memorable and positive experience.
