Katherine Silva: katie_rah@yahoo.com, 707-894-0821

Employment Objective: I hope to be an independent contractor in the field of web graphics design.

Skills: I am proficient in Photoshop, non-WYSIWYG web authoring programs, hand-coded HTML and CSS, and I have a good working knowledge of common Javascript functions.

Courses: HTML A/B , Web Graphics A/B , Photoshop A/B/C

Project Role: As the project manager for Women's Voices, I was responsible for creating the project site, coordinating, and communicating with my team members and the client. As a content developer, I was responsible for formatting the text on 50% of the Women's Voices site.

What I learned from the project: The most important skill(?) I learned was to check my site in Netscape DURING the contstruction process, not after. I found bugs in my project site that I absolutely could not track down - and I ended up starting from scratch and checking every other step to see where it broke.

Project Role: I thoroughly enjoyed my role as Designer for the Sonoma County Women's Voices website, creating all graphics and the basic design and layout of the home page and seconday pages, and all of the necessary communication and reporting to our client, my web team, and the instructor.

What I learned from the project: After creating 20+ websites solo, it was great to gain experience working with a team. I enjoyed not having all the responsibility and appreciated the amount of feedback this class provides. I've also learned the valuable lesson of thorough planning and communication before starting the job!
