Employment Objective: My employment objective is to learn as much as possible about graphic design and website development. I am currently employed as a graphic artist and I do all of the advertising and web design at my company besides artwork for clients, so I love learning new skills that will help me on the job.

Skills: I have about 8 years experience in 3D artwork and 2D design. The programs I use on a regular basis are: Illustrator, Photoshop, Imageready, Amapi, Cararra 3D, Painter, Terragen, Mojoworld and Bryce. I use Dreamweaver for creating websites.

Courses: I have received the Adobe Applications specialist certificate and the Adobe Photoshop certificate from the SRJC. I will complete the Web Graphic Designer and HTML certificates after the summer semester. Then in the fall I will be working on the Applied Graphics courses. It's my goal to complete all the graphic design related courses at the SRJC to enhance my skills on the job and for my own artwork.

Project Role: I was the designer for this project. I had a lot of fun learning about some new features of CSS and working with the client to create their website.

What I learned from the project: I learned how wonderful it is to work in a web development team. Daniel and Cecilia did a wonderful job on the content development. That always seems to be the most difficult part of creating a website. Scott did a great job too, keeping everyone informed, working the client and helping us out when we had questions. It was nice to work with such great people on this project.

Employment Objective: Position as Marketing Director or Manager for small to mid-sized consumer products/services corporation.

Skills: Stragegic marketing, business consulting, business/product identity and branding, knowledge management, new venture creation, business plan/case development, pricing/financial analysis, graphic design, and web design/development. Experience leading national teams to the timely completion of complex business projects with multi-billion dollar opportunities.

Courses: Masters of Business Administration in e-Business and Market Strategy (2001) MBA supported by over two years of training in graphic design, Flash, and web-development. Coursework at SRJC has focussed on developing mastery of Macromedia (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) and Adobe (Frame Maker, Illustrator, Page Maker, and Photoshop) applications.

Project Role: I served as Project Manager. My class objective was to provide a roll model for professionalism to my team by leading by example. My personal objective while working on this project was to gain experience managing creative team, which requires a very different skill set than managing technical projects (my current job focus).

What I learned from the project: People succeed when they are empowered to succeed. I let each person on the team take care of their individual roles and responsibilities. Given clear objectives, and the opportunity to own and take pride in the details of their work, I am pleased to say that the project went smoothly, and everyone exceeded my expectations.
