SRJC courses Photoshop, HTML, Web Graphics, JAVA, Perl & CGI,Intro. to Programming, Word, Business of Web Design. Project Role: As the site's graphic designer, I made the logo and other graphics, and chose the color scheme and the site format. I also proofread the site and wrote the following portions of the web proposal: overview, goals, presentation storyboard, deliverables, and contract. What I learned from the project: I learned how to make a written web proposal, the intricacies of browser compatibility, techniques for making better graphics, and tips for making web sites more accessible to the disabled. Most importantly, I gained additional experience in working on a team web project. LuAnn Pufford lpufford@sonic.net (707) 776-0938 Skills: My computer skills have included computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and custom database applications. Over the last twelve months I have broadened my computer skills to include HTML, authoring using Microsoft FrontPage, Adobe Photoshop for designing Web graphics, the basics of UNIX and FTP, and beginning Java programming. Courses:
Bachelor of Arts Degree, Business Management and Marketing Project Role: I am the project manager for the Alliance For Community Media site. I was involved in various aspects of the project including contacting and working closely with the client, working with both the designer and programmer to determine the overall goals, strategy, design elements and layout of the site's structure and content, developing a project schedule, creating a budget, organizing the project proposal, html coding, uploading, and testing the site. What I learned from the project: The two most valuable things I learned were the importance of creating and utilizing a well written and well organized project proposal, and the importance of good communication and team work among the project team members.
Valerie Brownrigg: circlec@pacific.net (707)462-5514 Skills: I have been employed in the past as a systems analyst and programmer for companies such as IBM, Bechtel, and Utah Construction. This was before PC's. I know basic, C, java (sort of), javascript, perl/CGI, html, Word, Photoshop, spreadsheets, databases. Courses: I have a BS in Mathematics from Michigan State University, 1963. In the last decade I've taken C and other computer courses at Sonoma State. At SRJC I've taken HTML, perl/CGI, photoshop, java, Business of Web Design. Project Role: Perl programming and participated in the site design. What I learned from the project: How to work with a team, make presentations to the client, and stay organized.
