Ted Wolff Intern Report
1. The Internship program expects the very best performance from students. Interns are presumed to be the "cream of the crop", and all are expected to do exceptional work. I found this to be motivating and exhilarating.
2. The program is well organized and well executed. A comprehensive list of seminars and activities accompanies the job work experience. Interns are encouraged to attend these seminars, which cover topics ranging from resume writing to the basics of job hunting to dealing with your boss. There are dozens of these seminars, all located on campus, all are free.
3. The program provides a real opportunity for future employment. Securing an entry level job is very hard these days. When I entered the computer industry back in 1982 it was easy to break in with little or no experience. Today jobs are scarce. Interns are given an opportunity to get into the workplace ahead of the competition. It is an excellent way to get noticed by potential employers.
4. The objectives that my supervisor and instructor set up for me during my internship provided me with a rich learning experience. Even though I was "just an intern", I was always given meaningful and challenging tasks that had real valule. I am very proud of the work I accomplished, and very pleased with the new skills I acquired.
