I used the Complex template. The colors on the div-color.html are different from the colors I used on the website due to a shortage of time.

Forgiveness requested for this being late, I am having difficulty without the pressure of showing up in a classroom setting, especially that my children and I have been on vacation.

Thanks for the extension Linda. I used the "simple" template for my homework page just to be able to look at that without doing double the homework.

I've begun the conversion process of taking my old site into the new template. It presents interesting challenges. My homework page is part of the old site and will begin to evaporate as this class developes.

Let's see… I think I said it all on the homework pages, so I won't be redundant here. I'm sure enjoying everyone's work. Regards, Jeri

It took for a while for me to understand things as i had never used any template for my work. In fact, in the middle of the work i thought to move to another template which is an easier one...but at the end i decided to stick on with complex one. The main problem i faced is with the navigation buttons...i think still i couldn't get control of them. As i am not good at english the next thing i worried about is the content... i am doing a volunteer work to a "doula" organization...so i started with that information. in fact they have not given me any information yet, but i managed to get some from the web.On the whole it's an experience... i think i am late for one hour for the dead line to submit home work......it's one clock in the mid night now regards hima

I had to take out some external links that I wanted to have on my page because their URL interferes with successful validation. Not sure what to do about that . . .

I still want to do a complex sample...it's hard to figure out what to put in the various columns...if you don't have an idea for those columns... that's my problem anyhow... I am, as always, enjoying class thoroughly!

I want also to do the complex template, as this was very easy - I am anxious to manipulate the structure of the templates themselves! This is just a fictional site.

I have customized the medium template with a trial website promoting my husband's wedding photography. I've included a few graphics (oops, guess I jumped the gun!) And started on a 3d page, gallery - but didn't get too far. Ran out of time. I haven't written copy yet, so you will read all the classic phrases from "lorem ipsum".

For my assignment, I am working on a web site for a local hospital. However, until the content is approved, I have replaced the name of the hospital with "generic". That should change in a week or so.

This site is just to show how much I love birds. I decided to use the two column layout for now. I may change that later.

Hi Linda, I did my best to read and re-read through all of your material, after about 12+ hours of effort, I hope that I have met all of your required criteria for this assignment. Best regards, Tim Webb

It took a awhile to figure all of this out. Once I finally got it, it was fun to do. It really helps to work on a copy of the template, so that you can refer back to original when you mess up. I will deal with the images in the next lesson, so I didn't touch them. I will probably still edit the styles content. Very helpful to make the div-color page first.

I was able to validate the code to XHTML transitional but not strict. I got too burnt out to try and validate to strict. It did take a long time for me to complete. I had some confusion about what was required but I think I got it.

**Primary Template Notes I am creating an imaginary winery for my project using the Complex Template. The “Plug & Play” of this template allows content, links, and extras to be expandable as the class progresses and in future redesigns. By the way, I am still pondering the name of this winery – hence – the funny placeholder. My collection of images for this adventure is rather thin. So, in conjunction with the requirements of the Digital Photography class I am taken, I will be visiting several wineries to photograph them and get a sense of Place. As well as, collect literature for further study and inspiration to develop the content better. After reviewing the requirements for each of the lessons in this class, I mapped out the navigation and started creating content. Because I want the pages to have a look and feel of completeness/fullness from the start and to buy time to compose the content, I am populating some parts of the pages with Lorem ipsum. **Secondary Template Notes This Homework Page/Blog is based on the Simple Template. Its greatest attribute is the stationary side navigation. The drawback to this is the number of links that can be added before a slider bar appears. Font size and browser attributes would have an effect on this. **Second Page Design Notes The Alternate page for the Complex Template offers a cleaner/simpler style to deliver the page topic. It was a hard choice to make. Both Front and Alternate pages would have worked in either position. In the end, I decided to show the visitor all the wonderful activities this winery offered right away, and then quiet down the visuals to focus on one theme per page. **Div Color Page Notes From a page with a list of color names and samples from the W3C, I chose a set of soft colors that were different enough to separate one from the others AND allow the text to be easily read. **Div Color Key Page Notes I left the content in place, added the Div name and color right after the Div name, and deleted the Link Ref to the css file in the Head. Initially, I was then going to delete all the text after that, but liked the idea of seeing the text this way and being able to quickly associate color and text. I have not used background colors like this before, so this was a new way to understand the page structure.
