Comments about testing
1. The target market of the site is parents and families seeking affordable, quality childcare. This market is not the most computer-savvy, therefore easy navigation and simplicity were essential to the site.
2. All but one of the students tested, I do not know that individual's name.
3. 12 testers
4. The testers were to visit the site and answer the questions we had assigned them (see #5 below). They were visit each page and note suggestions for improvement as well as items that we excelled at. They were also making sure that content loaded quickly, and that all-in-all the site looked nice, functioned, and got ECC's message across.
5. Questions we asked:
1. What is your first impression of the site?
2. What is the site’s purpose?
3. What is the overall tone and feel of the site?
4. What got your attention?
5. What is your impression of the color scheme and images?
6. Did you find the site easy to navigate?
7. Were the pages interesting? Why or why not?
8. What did you like best about the site?
9. What did you like least?
10. What suggestions for improvement do you have?
11. Were there any links that did not work, images that did not load, typos?
12. Was the information clear?
6. For the most part, I think our testing went well. Two of the most important questions in my mind were "Did you find the site easy to navigate?" and "What is the site’s purpose?" Based on tester's responses, we nailed easy navigation, and everyone knew the purpose of the site and what type of organization Extended Childcare Coalition is. Most of the grievances and suggestions were pertaining to the color scheme, which I find to be a matter of aesthetic opinion. Many people said they didn't like the use of black lines with our color scheme, however I felt it provided more definition. Also several people said they liked our color scheme because it was light and kid-oriented, which fits into the theme and purpose of the site. All in all I would say we received mostly positive responses and I'm proud of what our team achieved, in particular Ron for his excellent design and flexibility with our client, and Ambrietta for her initiative and drive down the stretch of this process.
7. Most of our changes will come from question #11 about some things not loading. Some of the location pictures weren't loading, and the back button on the "donate here" button wasn't working

1. Target market: constituents of the CCE-mainly SSU faculty, community agencies, and students.
2. All answered

4. Lisa set up a survey online via Kwik Survey. It was quite nifty.
5. a. what device did you use to take the survey?
b. size of screen?
c. Type of operating system?
d. Browser used?
e. Internet connection type?
f.Did you open a Google acct. for testing?
g. could you tell what the site was about?
h. After opening the homepage, where did you first click?
i.Were the pages interesting? Why or why not?
j.Was there one page you found the most interesting? Useful? Confusing? Glitchy?
k. Any links that didn't work? Images that didn't load? Typos?
l. What is your impression of the color scheme and images?
m.What did you like best about the site?
n. several aspects were asked about and people were asked to rate from 1-5 stars. (consistency, structure, design, increasing interest as it was read, linked materials, blogs, calendars, articles, feeling overwhelmed, overall feeling of the site, integrated, vague, easy to navigate, confusing or clear, etc.
6. summarization: Most testers appreciated the amount of work that went into the site. One person was overwhelmed by the amount of content but there is nothing we can do about that. Most gave us 4 or 5 stars on the rating scale. Some felt it was cold to neutral which I get b/c it is a university site.
7.There are some suggestions I will take into consideration about links that go to odd places. Not too many typos to correct so that's good.

As you mentioned in class, using the class mailing list caused more work and confusion. Your suggestion to go to
the websites and get the individual email addresses is definitely a better way to go.
It was really great to get the reviews and see what other students saw. We had few problems, but some students gave
some good suggestions for improvements.
It wasn't until I opened this report, after posting my testing results, that I realized the above information needed to be on those results. I did not see them in the examples I looked at, so maybe having them on the page along with the sample questions and making clear that they are required. It was a little bit of a challenge to figure
out how to compile those types of questions but it worked out all right. For fellow team members I just put all the
email answers on a word doc and forwarded to the team so they could read exactly what the students said.
All in all, a good learning experience including how frustrating it must be for teachers to wait for last minute assignments from students, can throw off all your plans!

I have not updated what changes we are going to implement as i was driving across the country when i was administering this and my group knew this. my designer (barbara) and i will decide what will be changed. we are currently working with the tester who had everything all mucked up and the css file did not work. there are only 2 people who did not get back to me, one of those responded after the third email i sent her but it was after the third deadline i sent her and after i uploaded the student test page, and was a half assed response at that.

I find that emails work better with smaller groups, and that maybe an online form like this one would be better for submitting and retrieving input on project sites in the future. When we reviewed the answers from the classmate testers and the typical users, it was interesting to see the answers from the different perspectives. The students looked at the site from the creative side, knowing what it takes to build the site. And the users are much more critical and give lots of opinions of what they think things should be like.
It was all good information to have this feedback. And very helpful to pick up on small things that you may have overlooked after looking at it 100 times.

I have two files loaded onto the server please pick on that looks better to view. I know the codes do not validate. I had a lot of trouble putting it together and could not figure out why they would not validate. I did not want to call my team members at 23:30 and wake them up, bothering them about this so I let it be.
The target market are the people who are interested in learning about reptile relocation, rescue, and educating the public about reptiles.
All student participated in the evaluation.
There were eight testers.
Most people came back with the same answers. I was surprised that Noah caught something that nobody else did. There was a page that was not functioning correctly and I need to make a few changes to the site ASAP because of my mistake.
I asked the testers the following questions below:
Name
Computer
Monitor size
Monitor colors
Operating system
Browser (include version)
Internet connection
What is the site about?
What is the overall tone and feel of the site?
What was your first impression of the opening screen?
Where did you first click?
Did you find the site easy to navigate?
Were the pages interesting? Why or why not?
What is your impression of the color scheme and images?
What did you like best about the site?
What suggestions for improvement do you have?
Were there any links that did not work images that did not load typos?
Not all questions were answered but that is okay because I understand that there were some questions that were hard to get the answers for or the person did not know how to answer so it was omitted from the report.
The test results were wonderful. I am glad to have gotten so many positive responses and I know that it looks great and its going well, but there still needs to be a little more changed that needs to be made on my part. (My mistake)
I plan to make the broken link working, changing the name of a web page to be more appropriate. It is supposed to be rattlesnake rescue, not rattlesnake relocation.

I am happy with our results. I feel we had many hurdles to face and get over, but all in all it was a great learning experience. 4. The site still had some issues, such as the PayPal link leading to an e-mail form instead of the account page, and the Contact Us link leading to the old web site.
5. All of the questions are shown on the Peer Testing page. Click on the link.
6. The response was generally positive. Everyone liked the images of the children and the changing photo images. The site was often described as "clean and simple." The main complaints were about the lack of variation in the secondary pages, and difficulties with the nav bar.
7. At this point, we don't plan on any changes because they would require a major redesign of the navigation, and the content and design meet the client's specifications.

1. The target market of the survey consisted of classmates who would be able to provide informed feedback on the website.
2. All the respondents required to complete the survey did so.
3. I had nine testers.
4. Testing conditions included computer, monitor size, monitor colors, browser, and internet connection.
5. We asked what the site was about, the overall tone and feel of the site, impression of the opening screen, where they first clicked, ease of navigating the site, whether the pages were interesting, impression of the color scheme and images, what they liked best, suggestions for improvement, whether there were dead links, images that didn't load or typos, ease of finding the join link, ease of finding and understanding the events page, ease of determining how to find an architect, and whether they could stop the slideshow to find information on the architects featured in it.
6. The results were very positive; there were a couple of comments on the interest level of the subject matter (some people weren't interested in architecture), but everyone was impressed with the look of the site, in particular the slide show. A couple of respondents were confused by the Join link, but most found it easy to navigate and understand.

6.Summary
An overwhelming majority of the students used PC (92%) and Firefox (83%) to perform the testing. Of the eighteen questions asked there were only two that had answers that were slightly different. Does the site use standard link colors was answered no by 16%. Is the navigation easy to use and do you always know where you are in the site was answered no by 25%.
In the comments section 81% said they liked the site while 19% did not voice any opinion. Overall the comments did not group together as major issues. A few pointed out that the same color was used for links and text on the same page. Another said loading images with dial-up was very slow. And one pointed out that having a link to SRJC and Wells Fargo Center would have been nice.
7. I won't be be making any changes as I am the Content Developer. For enhancements, I would suggest making the logo's on the Corporate Partner's page to link to the actual site.
