Class attendance and times available for meetings: I plan to show up to class everyday, and if I couldn't make it, then I was going to watch the video on line. Best time I could meet with my group in person would be during class after class, wed at 5:00 P.M. - 12:00 A.M. Friday 1:30 P.M. - 12:00 A.M.

Prefer the following communication tools: I like to use the phone more because I feel that it helps you get the idea of who your partner / team are and helps you bond with them more. I also like to use e-mail or even facebook as well to talk with people.

Willing to learn about the following communication tools: I would like to know more about using blogs. People use blogs a lot and if you want to get in this type of work, blogs are a good way for you to get your name out there. Even for fans to fallow you and your work.

Interested in the following clients: I would like to help out the police department in hooting their video about their choppers. I would be a fun, exiting project to work on.

Willing to accept these jobs: I would love to be a IMD. I love movies, making movies, and it's a job I know how to control. I want tot be a film maker after school, and love to write, direct, act, camera, stunts, everything, but producing. To stressful for me right now.

I signed up in this class because I have to take it to get my degree in film/digital media.

Computer skills -
I know how to use adobe and final cut. Besides e-mail thats really it, but I'm great in what I can do with film editing.

Work Experience -
I've been working on film projects since the fall or 2009. Mostly in film classes here at the JC, before they had set up a film degree at the school. so I kept taking the film classes here until last fall when I knew what else I had to take.

Hobbies
I love sports. Baseball, hockey, and football. Sending time with people I love, playing video games, biking on and off road. I plan to move to Vancouver,Canada at the end of this up coming fall to work up their in film. I love film and writing for film because I love telling a good story and film dose that. I love telling action, comedy, romance, any type of film genera that has a good story that can atleast hook me into it.

Willing to learn about the following communication tools: I’ve always wanted to work with Skype, so it was great to jump right into with Linda. It appears to be an invaluable way to share work with each other very easily and possibly make changes in real time. I prefer emails over message boards and blogs…including all parties in the email exchange.

Interested in the following clients: As a late enrolled student, Linda has assigned me to the Computer Studies website. I really look forward to working with a team again - it was a great experience the first time I took a similar class.

Willing to accept these jobs: I was a content developer in an earlier version of this course. I will be working on editing video for the Computer Studies website. I have been designing and building websites for the last 10 years. I love Photoshop and the designing aspect of website development. I also enjoy working with the clients and seeing the big picture, so the role of Project Manager within a web team has also intrigued me.

Reason enrolled:
I enrolled in this course as my final requirement for a certificate in web design. I have been on a very long journey in obtaining this certificate as I started when my first child was born. 12 years later, this moment has arrived. I’ve taken my time, and yet as technology has evolved I have taken courses outside of the requirements of this certificate. The way websites are built now are quite different than when I first began this process. I can see myself continuing to enroll in courses as they are great hands on experience for the real world.

Computer skills -
I work on a Mac and spend the majority of my time in Photoshop, Lightroom and Final Cut Pro. I also have worked in Dreamweaver, Fireworks, InDesign, Illustrator and a teeny bit of Flash. I have fun in iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD. I build my websites in Dreamweaver, but am grateful to the knowledge of coding as I have had to adjust coding more often than I’d like. I am comfortable using Word and Excel. I’ve recently been exploring how to make Wordpress websites.

Work Experience -
I got my BA in Communication and Information Studies with an emphasis in video production. I interned at the TV station in Santa Rosa and got my first job in television at the ABC affiliate in Honolulu, HI. I worked as a floor director, computer graphics and ultimately a producer/director. I then was hired in San Francisco at BayTV where I wore many hats in video production and moved over to their parent station KRON as an electronic graphics manager. Website development and image retouching has dominated my work life ever since.

Hobbies
My husband and I have two wonderful children. As a family, our summers are filled with boating and camping. We all love to wakeboard and wakesurf. Lake Trinity and Bullards Bar are our favorites. We have had rats, mice, fish and cats...now we're down to just fish and two great cats...one skinny one and one very heavyset 7-toed ball of fur. Between baseball games, band practice, taekwondo and musicals, the kids keep our lives very full. Looking forward to this class and meeting everyone!

I have a background in education and have taught junior high and high school mathematics as well as undergraduate classes in communication theory, public speaking and inter-cultural communication. I also have a background in theology and I most recently have been employed as a hospital chaplain.

I love to read, cook, walk, dance, swim and do all things artistic. I recently gave up a volunteer job at Memorial hospital but enjoy being a docent at Luther Burbank House and Gardens. I am an avid francophile and gardener.

Reason enrolled: It is a required class for the Web Graphic Design certificate and I think the experience will be invaluable. And hopefully it will give me a chance to develop a site using WordPress.

Computer skills - HTML/CSS here at the JC. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and learning WordPress. Also am about half way through the graphic design program here at the JC. Know Word, and some Excel and Power Point. Am NOT a programmer!

Work Experience -
Work Experience - I worked on a friend's wholesale website last summer (see link above). She had someone else create the shopping cart. I also did the banner at the top of the page.The site was done in Dreamweaver w/ some javascript thrown in for fun. Other than that I am teaching myself WordPress on with the help of lynda.com and have about 4 sites ready to be worked on.

Hobbies
Hobbies I teach an indoor cycling class 3 mornings a week, and I also swim 2x/week. I have three boys and love hanging out with them, watching them do their own sports. I love all things design...have designed print material and t-shirts as well as what I've already stated. I am leaving behind a 20 year career in massage therapy. I believe my soft skills are listening to clients and establishing a protocol on the spot. I am very analytical (problem solver) but can be creative as well.

Interested in the following clients: I come from a family with a strong martial arts interest, so "Martial Arts Youth Institute" and "The Salvation Army Double Punches Boxing Club" are the most interesting to me. I've been actively using computers and had my own since I was 6 (now 22). I've completed CS 50.11 a and b; I am currently enrolled in 50.11c.

I've had a handfull of "jobs" but my current is being a manager at movie theater. I like working with other people and completing collaborative efforts. I don't mind working extremely long hours and prefer to finish a project that is more than it is required to be, I want to be proud of it. In my personal work, I try to finish early and try to learn about why I'm working or doing what's needed so I can do a little extra.

I love movies (film major) and enjoy business (previously major). I enjoy competitive games of almost all kinds. I like learning and pursuing creative outlets.

I work full time so my available hours to meet are weekday evenings and weekends. From time to time, I can schedule a meeting during the work day if necessary. We seem to have a wide variety of options - I tend to prefer the smaller businesses and non-profits that really can use our help. Based on my inability to participate in person, I believe Linda already has a good idea of which client she would like me to work with. I liked the Recourse Mediation Center (www.recoursemediation.com) and the idea of revising a website for the Sherrif's Department rescue helicopter.

I use a mac now but have spent many years on a pc. I enjoy creating things for the web - I would like to spend more time on HTML5, but am confident in my css and html abilities. I primarily use Dreamweaver for web design, and Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and iMovie for other media. (I don't own Premiere Pro but I have used it before). I would like to break out of the dreamweaver templates, yet they are such a quick way to organize a page - and that often is the key to good webdesign - to present the information clearly and cleanly.

I love listening to music, as well as producing it. I play video games, and I work. I'm a full time student and I work around 30 hours a week as well.

Class attendance and times available for meetings: I will attend the in-person class. Due to my 17 units Spring schedule I am available only on Fridays, sporadically... but I will make time when requested by my team, client or my instructor.

Prefer the following communication tools: Email is best. I don't know yet about skype. I don't use my cell phone to talk, only for emergencies, or brief messaging. I have limited funds.

Willing to learn about the following communication tools: I would love to see how skype will work in our context. Now I am also taking CS 53.11B, the PHP class with Mr. Perez especially because Wordpress and I would like to learn more about its CMS/blogging capabilities.

Interested in the following clients: Sherrif's Department. The chopper video would be a blast to plan, make and edit. The packet description by itself is a storyboard: "Henry 1 is the sheriff’s office rescue helicopter which performs five missions: law enforcement, search and rescue, long line rescue, ALS air ambulance, and fire fighting." All me. I will make the time to shoot the video on Fridays, or Saturdays.

Willing to accept these jobs: Interactive Media Developer (IMD). I covered all the video classes till CS 74.21C with Mr. Sangstack. However I have not covered any substantial Flash classes, only a short intro. I have not assembled a portfolio yet.

CS 50.32 is a requirement for my Interactive Media Design Course major. I am covering also the transfer requirements through IGETC for transfer to the Film and Digital Media program at UCSC.

Computer skills -
My web knowledge is too new to claim as skill. Regardless I am excellent with image editing issues such as color cast, cropping, composition emphasis. I studied Dreamweaver with Mr. Diamond, but my knowledge is very basic.

Work Experience -
18 years as a pre-press manager with Apple and Windows OS and mostly proprietary Direct To Press and Image Editing applications. Also an occasional photographer, art director and artist.

I really wanted to put my design skills and my coding knowledge to the test on a live site. I thought this class would really offer a great challenge and a wonderful learning experience.

Computer skills -
I know my way around the basic level of a computer to save files and customize features, and I can usually solve most problems unless it is a virus issue. I can work on MAC and PC. I have taken several courses in the Adobe Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and InDesign) and have taken several coding classes at the SRJC. 50.21 A/B.

Work Experience -
I am currently looking for a good internship in the wine industry for graphic design and coding. I have 5 years of experience in the Wine Industry in Sales and Marketing and did some graphic design work for events. And I have worked for Sonoma County Martial Arts Center as their Photographer for events and quarterly Kickboxing matches.

Hobbies
I really love sports, wine and adventurous challenges. I am currently in kickboxing and karate at the Sonoma County Martial Arts Center, I play tennis, diving, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, running, and golf(not very good yet... that darn little ball) and yoga. I have been considering making web design as a career and I mostly wanted some hands on experience with working with a client. I find working with a client as the most intimidating aspect to me so I feel that this experience would be good for me. I am also needing this class to complete my certificate for the SRJC's HTML Web Content Developer certificate.

Computer skills -
I find my experience with computer to be pretty decent. I am familiar with windows, mac and linux. I know a decent amount of C++ and a bit of UNIX. As for web skills, I have Facebook, Google+ and Twitter so I feel that I can market through social networks pretty well.

Work Experience -
I have no work experience in web design. My only work experience has been working at a local coffee shop that eventually extended to Pier 39 where I worked for a summer.

Hobbies
My hobbies are mostly web design and photography. I don't have a domain so most of my pages are unpublished. I also love to do arts and crafts such as crocheting and scrapbooking.

I earned a BA from SSU in 2007 in Communication Studies and my final semester I had to take an internship to graduate. I ended up getting Jean Wasp to take me as her Production Assistant. I mostly edited articles and took pictures or gathered them off the web and dropped them into her template. I do know and remember a very small amount of HTLM code, like how to code in picture size and how to code in special font but that's about it. In the link I provided you with above you can skroll to the bottom and you will see I am listed as the Production Assistant. I also got free hosting from the website I took my notary class through and using one of their templates I dropped my information in. I use a small amount of code on this to manage links on this site.

Work Experience -
I think I have in other questions but I have mostly worked in Retail and Radio before opening up my own company. My last job was working at a non profit in the area called North Bay Industries (speaking of their website could use a face lift) where we got mentally disabled adults in the area jobs and accompanied them to work and took notes on their behavior. I got really good at paper work! One of the things I enjoyed about the content of this class in knowing we are doing quality work for non profits in the area they really deserve it! Those people work hard!

Hobbies
I love to listen to music, I also jam on guitar and my keyboard. I tye dye when the weather is good and attend music festivals in the summer time with my friends. I also have been working on riding my bike every day and reading.

I am proficient with content development, and I am also pursuing a career certificate in Information Technology Essentials. I am well-versed in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance as well as Windows 7 and Windows XP. I am also well-experienced with Microsoft Office (with the exception of Access) and although I know more about PCs, I am not "Mac-phobic."

Work Experience -
I worked with summer camps and youth programs for many years, both as a part time staff and as a full-time director. I have also performed with Improvisational Comedy groups.

This course seemed to be an opportunity to learn the methodology of putting a website together and getting it on the internet. I have barely gotten my feet wet in this business and want to learn more.

I learned how to turn a computer on in the spring of 2008. I started with the most basic computer class offered here and worked my way slowly up. This was to prepare for a required computer skills class for my Agriculture business degree. I have taken that class and learned Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point. I have taken the HTML and CSS classes here at the JC. I built the simple website shown above for my daughters daycare. I am hoping to complete a website for my family ranch soon. I owned and operated a heavy equipment and trucking company working in the construction and logging business.

My work experience has not been focused in any one field though there has been a commonality between experiences that has allowed me to develop in new areas. I have worked as a freelance web designer/producer for almost two years. Most of my clients have been musicians, artists, and small business owners. I have done a lot of ISP set up for clients. I teach an indoor cycling class 3 mornings a week, and I also swim 2x/week. I have three boys and love hanging out with them, watching them do their own sports. The best times for me to "meet" people with video and/or online are when the library is open (10 am - 8 pm PST) Hopefully I can use one of their meeting rooms.

Last year's class we set up a Google site but it was a lot to set up and we didn't end up using it much. I'm thinking that the group's site could include messaging if set up as Wordpress or another CMS application.....but Facebook is so easy!

It's been a while since I've used my HTML skills (XHTML was my training, HTML 5 class hasn't been online yet) Most of the sites I have designed have used Wordpress. I'm strong in the structure and navigation, still learning on the color and visuals. I have strong skills with photo optimization and Photoshop. I have a good understanding of SEO and social networking.....I have taught these to small business owners with good success (photo optimization with Picnik too) I tend to be minimalist and clean rather than fancy and dramatic. I'm taking Flash this semester to be able to add some interactivity and excitement but am of the opinion that splash pages detract from rather than add to most sites (SEO and visitor usability) I understand and like using CMS systems because of the flexibility and ability to add features without having to code them all!

Work Experience -
I have done accounting and office management. My favorite job was at camp/retreat center doing event development, marketing, and guest services. I am currently applying for lots of jobs with the National Park Service as an interpretive park ranger......I have learned that 2/3 of park resources sharing and education is via print and web. I enjoy the face-to-face but want to use my web and graphic design skills in an outdoor job also!

Unfortunately, the file download functionality is not currently working due to file constraints set forth by the host. o I have used several applications in my web design efforts, they include the following: Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Draw and Split Image to create custom images; Dreamweaver, FrontPage, NoteTab Pro, Crimson Editor, Notepad++ and WinMerge for webpage creation; WinZip and Paquet Builder file utilities for downloadable installation file creation; FileZilla Client and CuteFTP applications to upload my web content. o I provide support for all of my friends and family members computers. I have reformatted computers, set up home networks and provide general computer support. It seems that someone always needs some kind of help with their computer so I am always solving computer problems for someone; not that I am complaining or anything because, I do feel good when I help them out.

I have worked as both a Programmer/Analyst and a Software Engineer for various companies since November 1986. Most recently, I worked for MGM Brakes as a Programmer/Analyst until July 2009, at which point, I was laid off due to budget constraints. I belong to the gym that I go to 5 times a week. I am still learning to use Dreamweaver which is a very quirky program at times.

I have been around PC’s for quite a few years, using them mostly for business type purposes. I also used the various initial PC based desktop publishing programs, and when digital audio began to evolve I started using the audio software program Samplitude to record my compositions. I still Sequoia Samplitude now on Version 11, which has been the audio software of choice for the BBC for many years now. The last several semesters I’ve been focusing on the Adobe Suite, and have become familiar and comfortable with Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Bridge, Photoshop and my favorite has become After Effects CS 5.5. This program has really captivated my interest. And this semester I'm taking the After Effects class again from one of my favorite SRJC instructors Jeff Sengstack, to refresh my skill set and further improve my competency in this special effects software program.

It may get harder later in the semester to attend class as my new job gets more busy as we get into late spring and summer. I'll be able to meet almost any night and probably some days during the week.

Willing to learn about the following communication tools: I'm open to any of the ones mentioned above. I've used ccc confer with another class, and I'm interested in blogs. I am not familiar with wikis or basecamp, but I'm open to learning anything the group wants to use.

Willing to accept these jobs: I've taken PHP programming and Javascript so I'm interested in the programmer or interactive media positions. I actually think it would be better to do slide shows and/or video content with straight Javascript because the resulting page wouldn't require the user to have Flash installed to see the finished product and the web page would work on IPads that don't support Flash. I've already done the designer job for a group and I'm worried my work schedule would hinder the Program Manager position. But, really, anything you want to assign me is fine.

Reason enrolled:
It's part of the curriculum for the web design certificate and I found 50.31 to be very educational. I'd also like to put some of the programming skills I've learned into practice and just get more experience with this process.

Computer skills -
I'm comfortable with Mac, Windows and UNIX environments, HTML, CSS and I've just started getting into CSS3. I am pretty comfortable with PHP and Javascript languages. I usually use programming text editors to write code although I have been using DreamWeaver a little as well.

Work Experience -
In the 80's, I worked in electronics engineering. In the 90's up until 2008, my wife and I had a graphics service bureau, and most recently I've been working as a Mentor/Substitute teacher for a non-profit that takes care of at-risk teenagers with drug, alcohol and gang problems.

Bike riding, hiking, tennis, music (playing and listening), hanging out with my wife and kids, movies, politics, history, etc. etc. etc.

Willing to learn about the following communication tools: ccc confer and gotomeeting. I've used highrise and wasn't impressed, I think basecamp would have similar deficiencies.

Web: I have been designing web sites for 8 years, until recently using tables and Dreamweaver self-taught. I use Dreamweaver as my editor for HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript. This is my first year web programming and I am still learning. I have a little knowledge of SQL, MySQL, and phpMyAdmin (relational databases- taking that this semester). I have just completed my first full customized WordPress CMS site for a client. I currently manage/ maintain several sites. Computer: PC person, on Windows 7. I am very experienced in creating web and print graphics and excel in Illustrator and Photoshop. I use internet applications including email, Skype, CCC Confer, LinkedIn, Facebook (not Twitter) and forums. I know MS Word and Outlook pretty well, Excel and Access less well, but use them. I know Sony Sound Forge, notepad++, putty, fireftp, Firefox and Firebug, online file hosting (like RapidShare and Dropbox) and p2p. I know mac and pc file systems and organization and what it takes to get them to work together. I have a scanner and an inkjet, no fax service. I have a good digital camera and take pretty good pictures. I live in Occidental and have a sometimes unreliable but usually faster than DSL connection.

Work Experience -
Most of my work experience is as a freelancer designing graphics and websites, and spending a few months with small companies here and there getting their files digitized and organized and training people to use their computers and websites. I have a BFA and am a painter/ illustrator, exhibiting and selling my work all over California. I have worked for a few non-profit arts organizations in Sonoma County in operations and art gallery management and volunteer coordination. I still volunteer in that field.

Hobbies
Hiking, camping and being outside. I have cats and chickens and animals. I volunteer at the local community radio station and art center. I love punk rock and rockabilly music. I have disabilities that further an interest in mental and physical health. I wish I had time to paint and garden and sew more.
