We had excellent results from our testors. All 5 of 5 "users" submitted test results. Our users were all familiar with or were members of the FANHS Organization, so provided helpful feedback. We used a couple responses to tweak our site. I helps to see the Website we are so familiar with through someone else's eyes.

Special Thanks to Nichelle Rourke from 8324 for sharing their Sonoma County Folk Society Website.

This assignment really brought to light issues about the site that didn't already occur to me. It shows the very wide range of opinions people can have. While some people give lots of comments others just send a simple message. The suggestions taught me a lot about style and design for the web user.

Special Thanks to Rose Carlson from 8324 for sharing their UASA Website.

I would have like to have gotten more resposes1 also maybe next time i will conduct my testing different because noone answered the questions consistantly so it made the summary page hard t create. also i did not include changes on the summary page because we have not heard from client to make chages.

Special Thanks to Jerilynn Johnson from 8325 for sharing their Legal Aid of Sonoma County Website.

We could not get 10 typical users but the six that did participate provided very positive overall impressions of the site and constructive criticism. The testing.html contains the results of the feedback and has a link to the form used.

Special Thanks to Jessica Bobier from 3773 for sharing their Healdsburg Education Foundation Website.

Now I know that it is only fair to give testers a week to do their review of the site; everyone is so busy, and I felt like a nag asking for a quick turnaround. The input they gave was excellent; all of us are so close to the website that we didn't see some of the issues they brought up.

Special Thanks to Silia Stewart from 3773 for sharing their MAWS Website.

Our testing went very well and all of the feedback we reccieved was really helpfull. I think our site is much improved by the testing step.

Special Thanks to Tanya Seely from 3773 for sharing their Windsor Service Alliance Website.

It was extremely helpful getting everybody together and discussing their impressions. Some extra comments were brought up and it really unified a couple of paragraph content that was not previously caught. I was able to exercise my authority as PM when they proposed to have me type the corrections. I said that we accept electronic files and we need it by Fridat the 7th. They complied and it saved me the extra work! Standing firm works when you are doing what is right for the team.

Special Thanks to Donna Hayes from 3773 for sharing their Medical Alliance Website.

The testing for the most part seemed to go smoothly.

Special Thanks to Travis Carpenter from 3797 for sharing their Piner Olivet Website.

Comments about testing
Wasn't really enough time to make changes due to the late arrival of the test results from the e-mail system going haywire.

Special Thanks to David Jones from 3797 for sharing their LandPaths Website.

Our testing went very well and all of the feedback we recieved really removed some of our subjective inclinations. I think our site is much impoved having made a few changes that were consistenly suggested in our testing.

Special Thanks to Aaron Davis from 3797 for sharing their Mentor Me - Petaluma Website.

Our target market are residents of Petaluma (also southern Sonoma County and northern Marin County), ages 21+. People who are interested in becoming mentors, donating or otherwise supporting the program financially or by volunteering in some other way. The testers involved were residents of Petaluma. Some were provided by our Client and the remaining were provided by myself as Program Manager. I did not personally meet with any of these testers as the testing questionnaire was created to be self explanatory. Were we able to get a total of 5 Typical User testers. The conditions of this test were completely online where you could view directions for the questionnaire and follow the link to the website to review. Questions are as follows: 6 Equipment related questions and 23 operational related. - Your Name: - Computer (Dell 8200, MacBook Pro): - Monitor size (17”, 20”): - Monitor Resolution (800x600, 1280x800): - Operating system (Windows XP, OS 10): - Browser (IE6, IE7, Firefox 2.0): - Internet connection (56k, DSL, T1): ------------------------- 1 - What is the site about? 2 - What is the overall tone and feel of the site? 3 - What was your first impression of the opening screen? 4 - Where did you first click? 5 - Where did you click after the opening screen? 6 - Did you find the site easy to navigate? 7 - Were the pages interesting? Why or why not? 8 - What did you like best about the site? 9 - Did the website load quickly? 10 - Did you find any links that did not work? If so, where? 11 - What suggestions for improvement do you have? 12 - Could you find information on how to become a Mentor? 13 - Who do you think will find this page useful? 14 - Where in the website would a person go to make a donation? 15 - On which page did you find the option to join the E-List and monthly E-Newsletter? 16 - What did you like or not like regarding the Events Calendar? 17 - In your opinion, what is the primary goal of the website? 18 - In your opinion, do you think this website will encourage the recruitment of Mentors? 19 - In your opinion, was there too much information on the first page? 20 - Which version of the documentary did you watch? 21 - Did the documentary play easily, or did you have difficulties? If so, explain. 22 - Did you find the photos from this year's Mad Hatter Ball? 23 - Do you have any additional comments? The results of the typical user testing generally provided us with a positive overall view of the new website. We're noticing that these users like the open easy layout compared to the cluttered layout of the old website. The primary goals and overall feel of the website was successfully portrayed considering the responses given. There was some negative feedback regarding the size of the movies, but overall the majority of users out there should not have any problems. There are no planned changes in response to the typical user testing. Some consideration may be made after the scope of this class to reduce the size of the movie even further and changing the structure of the pages in response to the confusion of the "splash page" and the "home page".
