Let's see... where to start? I love to take ballet classes, but since I began the GD program the times of all my classes conflicted so I haven't been able to do that in several years really. I've surprisingly found that I have enjoyed the process as much as having the product. I would like to continue doing this!

I've been around computers for a long time, but never looked "under the hood". I'm no mechanic, but I sure do enjoy cruising! My first computer was a Tandy Laptop, then I switched over to using a Mac as it felt more intuitive, but times have changed and I find windows pretty intuitive too. I've only taken a few computer related classes. One was a basic computer class taken about 7 years ago and then recently I've taken the HTML5/CSS 1&2 classes, and here I am again in class!

I took some great online classes for CS 50.11A and CS 50.11 B, but I realize that I now struggle with piecing things together. e.g. you can use a wrapper around float or with positions (relative, absolute, etc.) Positioning is the most difficult part for me. Also, after taking computing classes, I have realized that I'd like to pursue a certificate or 2nd Associate degree in Web Design.

Computer experience -
My first time using computers was as we transitioned from typewriters to computers in high shcool. I took Basic programming then too. Since then, I got to take lots of office software (e.g. Excel, Word, Powerpoint) classes. Later on, I took AutoCad, Photoshop, and Html. I really liked these classes best. I took C++ recently too, but It wasn't as exciting to me as the design courses; this could have a lot to do with the fact that it was my only online class without lectures; I struggled a lot.

I like to google people and wiki them too. :-) I tend to read a lot of online articles (about lots of topics) and enjoy reading bios of famous people. I do love walking through nature and running outside, but I haven't done much of this since my return to Sonoma County. I have a lot of ideas and inventions that I'd like to create, both cosmetic products and electrical products, but I lack the know-how. I started using computers when my parents brought home an Radio Shack, back in the 80s. Eventually, we upgraded to a Tandy, then a Commodore 64, before my parents brought home a computer with this up and coming operating system called Windows 3.1. Over the years, I taught myself various programs and software. I learned Unix when I first started at the JC, back when the system was Nermal. I took Lotus 1-2-3, which lead to me teaching myself Excel. After graduating from the JC with an AA in English, I found I took almost as many computer classes as I did English classes. I came back to SRJC to earn some certifications to help my employment and continue my education.

I am interested in nutrition, fitness, traveling with my boyfriend and pets. I am currently training to compete in Olympic Weight Lifting, after taking a year off after my previous competition. After completing CIS 50.11B last semester, I felt my HTML and CSS skills were greatly improved in a structured way. However, I know there's much more to learn, and I'd like to delve into more advanced CSS-based layout techniques.

I have been using computers since the mid-70's in high-school, and they have been a central part of my life and career since. I am well-versed in computer hardware and software, and have been using the internet for e-mail, usenet postings, and early browsing on Mosaic, since the early '90's. I have experience in both Windows and Unix environments, having spent 16 years in high-tech before opening our Gallery 8 year ago. My first web page was a way to organize my bookmarks for the Mosaic browser and had to use "Frames" to create a 2-column layout {very early HTML).

Hobbies and Interests
My current interest is road cycling. Our region is one of the best and most beautiful for bicycling, and I love getting out and exploring our region on two wheels.

Hello everyone, I tried to take this class previously but was not up to taking as many classes as I registered for so I had to drop it. I am now taking it again in the hopes of achieving 2 web design certificates... one for Dreamweaver and one for HTML Developer... which means I will also take (in a year from now, spring if 2013) CS 50.31, which I am a little nervious about but am exckted about all of the things I have planned and that I want to accomplish with the aid of this class and several others that I plan on taking in the future.

Computer experience -
I took the first two CS 50.11 A & B and really enjoyed the experience. I have developed a great fondness for the craft and decided to also do CS 50.11C after that but like I said my plans did not work out. I then decided to take the first Dreamweaver class over the Summer of 2011. That also was a great experience and I am taking the second one this semester as well as this class. Then last semester I took Adobe InDesign, just to see what it was about and really loved that as well. I like that class because it deals with being able to publish my own writing in the future. And now, I am taking this class as well as Dreamweaver 2 and Photoshop 1; I am really looking forward to learning all I can from these.

Hobbies and Interests
I am interested in writing on the side, which I want to eventually turn into a career and do web design as well. I love to walk, read anything and everything, watch movies, play video games, and visit my friends and family.

My hobbies and interests include being on the computer, playing video games, being with friends, shopping (mostly video game or grocery-related), and on occasion, going to the beach. Ever since I was a toddler I have been playing on computers. From my dad's old Tandy 1000 to my current custom-built gaming computer, I have always had my hand on a keyboard. My dad is a sysadmin and has held many jobs in the IT field. I have always followed his footsteps and learned much from him. I started using HTML about 15 years ago, when it was very basic and nothing like what it is today. At the age of 14, I had my own website built at www.homestead.com (now a different website). It was mostly a WYSIWYG builder but it allowed some manual HTML editing. Over time I would open websites on Geocities and other hosting sites. My dad gave me a book on HTML and XML when I was in my later teen years and I studied it through. The only problem was that I never had a real use for a website. It was always a hobby. I didn't have a purpose that kept me updating and improving the sites so they would fall out of my range of interests and I would find something else to do. In my adulthood, I have held a few jobs that utilized my knowledge of HTML (and later, CSS) to build or maintain websites. Now that I am ready to start a career, I can think of no better industry than web development.

Hobbies and Interests
First and foremost, I am a PC gamer and Internet addict. I cannot live without the fastest computer (or the fastest that my budget allows), the fastest Internet connection, and the coolest gadgets. Outside of technology I enjoy playing music. I am proficient at bass guitar and decent at electric/acoustic guitar. I also enjoy art, music, and parenthood (I have a 2 year old daughter and a daughter who is due in 5 months).

I consider myself computer savvy and a regular computer addict. We have a lot of computers networked in our household. I like to use my desktop computer and my laptop at the same time. I prefer the laptop for homework, and like to test my website pages on both laptop and the desktop computer. I also have several browsers installed on my computers so I can check them on all the browsers. Firefox is my first choice, with Google Chrome as second, and then Safari as third choice.

I'm nineteen years old and grew up in a middle class family, so this also means that I've grown up with computers and can use them naturally and with ease. Still, I never studied any computer topics directly until a year and a half ago when I took my first programming class, CS 10, Intro to Programming. I've now taken Data Structures and Algorithms, Assembly Language Programming, HTML/CSS 1 & 2, and PHP Programming. I'm heavy on programming skills and low on design skills, which is a big motivation for my taking this course.

I have been using computers, primarily Macs, since the early 1980s (I'm an early adapter type). I'm confident that I can do almost anything on the front end and in fact I have kind of a software addiction. I'm dangerously self-taught on the back end. I have a pretty good natural design sense and have grown tired of spending hours trying to puzzle through coding so that I can realize a picture in my head. I used to think that using RapidWeaver or WordPress was good enough for my purposes, but got frustrated every time I hit a dead end with a template and couldn't figure out how to work around it. So I decided to learn CSS and HTML for real.

Hobbies and Interests
I'm a writer, I like to fish for salmon, and I knit for rest and meditation. And I love to cook. I home school my two teenaged sons because I think the public school system is insufficient to prepare them for real life. Professionally, I'm a small business coach with a particular interest in revitalizing communities by rebuilding a strong base of locally-owned businesses.
