When I first heard of HTML5 I made some effort to learn it on my own, I have view a few videos and even read some article but I had no motivation to learn it. Then I have purchased books on HTML5, which have been collecting dust next to my computer. So, when I was inform a HTML5 class was offers at the JC, without hesitation I enroll..

It has been 5 years since my last certificate in Web design. I had gone through a few versions of Adobe, Browsers, and Operation System. Pretty much I had update in each application but I am still creating in Adobe CS4. I create designing templates and developing website, also with a added bonus I create videos and slide show for Clients, I currently used Dreamweaver, Premiere, Photoshop, Flash, and Illustration.

Hobbies and Interests
I love camping, hiking, swimming, biking, and kayaking. After a good workout I love to cook a healthy meal and do it all over again.

I have almost complete the curriculum for the Web Design Certificate and have taken the entire Adobe Suite offerings here at the JC. I have been working on small websites and doing some graphic design work as well. I am also enrolled in two graphic design classes and my goal is to get either an AA or certificate in that. I can also maneuver my way around the Office suite but that's as far as I go. No programming for me!

I have three boys who keep me busy with their sports and I also enjoy sports of my own—swimming, running, cycling, and Pilates. I was a massage therapist for over 20 years and am switching gears and going back to my first passion which is design. I also love photography, coffee, and reading.

Hello! I am taking this HTML5 class to keep my web development skills up to date. I am starting to design for the mobile web.

Computer experience -
Without dating myself, let's see. I started word processing in DOS and desktop publishing on the earliest or maybe second generation Mac. I've used some kind of Mac or PC at almost every job I've had throughout my entire career but didn't really start to enjoy computing until the early 2000s when I enrolled in the Web Graphic Design certificate program. Now I'm becoming familar with tablets and smart phones.

Hobbies and Interests
When I first started taking web development courses at SRJC, I was engaged and had two pet baby bunnies. They were the subject of my first website. Now I am divorced and still have one of the two bunnies. Coco is 11 years old and can still hop pretty fast. I enjoy gardening even if it's just tending to plants on my balcony and outside the front door of my apartment that Coco and I moved into a year and a half ago. Moving into a new place has been an opportunity to decorate however I want. So occasionally I like to go to antique and vintage shops and collect a thing or two here and there. I've also dabbled in furniture restoration/do-it-yourself projects, sometimes making serial trips to hardware stores. I also like baking and cooking and enjoying all that the North Bay has to offer in my free time. Which I am fortunate not to have too much of, since, knock wood, I am working during the week.

I started out on a TRS-80, spent time on local BBSes in the mid-1990s, learned to program in Borland Turbo C++ for DOS, set up a FreeBSD web+ftp server for myself and a few friends circa 2000, worked in IT for a couple of years, and got a CS degree in 2010.

I would like to keep with all these changes happening in HTML 5. Maybe even stay a step ahead. I have created 3-4 websites for clients and often see other cool things I would like to include but then get a little nervous about breaking what I have done so far on a site.

I think a driving force to learn to use to computers was to know more than my kids. Not sure how that has worked out. They tend to embrace all the new things much quicker than me, but who do do they call when something locks up, won't run or doesn't load? I just received my Web Graphic Designer certificate here and have taken some graphic design classes recently as well. I have used CAD programs for many years. I am now familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite, thanks to classes taken here. I did sign up for Facebook recently.

Hobbies and Interests
For several years now I have gotten back to building and sailing small boats, something I did a lot as a kid. Currently, I am building a CNC router. That's a wood-cutting router that moves in 3 directions mounted on a table controlled by a computer--kind of like a printer, except it cuts wood rather than putting ink on paper. So far, it is pretty cool. I hope to use it to cut out some fancy signs and parts for model boats and bird feeders. We have a house in Santa Rosa with a fish pond. Starting with 3 or 4 Wal-Mart goldfish several years ago, our goldfish family has grown each year. Now we have about 15 or 16. After each winter, there are new baby goldfish swimming amongst the others. I am looking forward to really knowing what a semantic tag can do for me.

Started with a mac plus in the dark ages. Used macs for years, won a pc and played with it. Learned what I could. Later found out an expensive pc is a mac with some issues relating to speed. I really like to find the fastest way to do things. I can do that with a mac, harder with a pc. I used to use a PC at work and a mac at home and could switch keystrokes without thought. Prefer Mac, can find ways to speed up work on a pc. I've built pcs, can't do that with a mac. It is a draw really.
