Bar & Nightclub Convention

If there was one outstanding theme that I noticed at this trade show (and I'm sure this theme could be common to many of the Las Vegas trade shows) is, "Sex Sells". 75% of the booths had some scantly clad woman displaying the booth's wares.

The show used the large room at the Convention Center and was filled with laser lights, party poppers, glassware, and oh yeah, a wide variety of booze and beer to taste. If it had to do with nightclubs, from floor to ceiling, it was there. ESPN, cigarette and cigar makers, martini's in a can (includes the olive and pick), carpeting, and lighting.

At left is me with a couple of booth girls (don't ask me what they were selling!). The guy on my right is some clown who stepped in just as the shot was taken. The most unusual booth I remember contained a crane-type coin-operated game for sale. Only instead of going after stuffed animals, for two dollars you could take a shot at any of the live lobsters in the tank below! Price tag - $15,000. How many do you want?

The highlight of the show for George (pictured here) was this girl. Guys were lined up to get their picture taken with her. It was something you'd see at a carnival sideshow. The expressions of everyone walking by were more of "HOLY COW!" than anything else. After the initial shock all I could think was, "How does she stay upright?" I never did see her stand up!
