RIO

Rio dinner

One of my planned stops was to the Rio Hotel & Casino. I had heard through information on the net that the food at the seafood buffet was very good. Also, the Mardi-Gras style show was not to be missed.

The Rio casino goes on forever and the seafood buffet is at the end. While waiting in line we watched the suspended show. The floats, all decked out with lights, glitter, and complete with carnival dancers, traveled along a ceiling track. The show ended in time for us to get our table.

You name it, this buffet has it; salmon, oysters (two styles), crab, even lobster. The $21 pp price tag may seem a bit steep, especially since earlier that same day all six of us had breakfast for that same price, but there's more than enough opportunity to get your money's worth.

Frenchy went straight for the lobster as did we all but I added a bit more variety to my plate. I really enjoyed the seafood lasagna and seafood enchiladas.

We left, stuffed, and before leaving the casino decided to play cards. Gary, Frenchy, and I went to a game called, "Let it Ride." It's a poker game where the players each receive 3 cards with the dealer taking 2. The 5 cards are used together to try to make a good hand. It's basically an all or nothing situation. I did manage to get a flush one time, paying about $100 before leaving for downtown.
