Santa Rosa Flyers 4 - San Francisco Saber Cats 2

Monday, February 15, 2010 (Santa Rosa): Santa Rosa finally broke the scoring barrier 7 minutes into the game as the Green Line scored: Evan Hastings from Sean Patrick Kelley and Michael Williams. The second goal came a minute and a haf later on a shot from Michael Williams off a sweet pass from D, Marc Chicoine and center Kevin Parry. SF made it a 2-1 on a goal 40 seconds later. Just into the second, Connor Smith scored, assisted by Max Brownlee and Marc Chicoine. One minute into the third period, The California Wave scored to come within 3-2. We got the clincher just 5 minutes into the third, as Evan Hastings scored his second goal of the game as a forward from all three lines participated (Hastings from Kevin Parry and Connor Smith). This time, we outshot them 30-15 to win the CHAMPIONSHIP.

Santa Rosa Flyers 6 - California Wave 1

Sunday, February 14, 2010 (Santa Rosa): The Flyers dominated the Wave , outshooting them 39 - 19 and outscoring them 6-1. Jonathan Gruber scored a hattrick and Max Brownlee scored 2. The Gold line scored 30 seconds into the game as Gruber stuffed a perfect pass from Kevin Parry, who had just received it from Peter Strauch. The next goal didn't come until 5 minutes into the second period as Strauch scored on a pass from Gruber. 8 seconds later, Max Brownlee scored the third goal, unassisted. With a minute and a half left in the period, Defenseman Marc Chicoine, scored a powerplay goal, assisted by Parry and Gruber. With just 19 seconds left on the clock, the Wave intercepted a pass in our zone and scored their first and only goal. Sean Fitzpatrick stopped 18 of the 19 shots.

Sunday, February 14, 2010 (Santa Rosa): San Francisco put up a good fight as we managed to eek out a 2-0 victory. We had 21 shots on their goalie and they had 15 shots on our rookie goalie, Paul Gregorian, who maintained a SHUTOUT. Our first goal was scored on a powerplay in the first period, by Max Brownlee on a great pass from linemate, Clay McCormick who had been fed a breakout pass from defenseman Marc Chicoine. The second goal was scored in the middle of the third, by Evan Hastings on a pass from Michael Williams and Marc Chicoine.

Saturday, February 13, 2010 (Santa Rosa): The Santa Rosa Flyers controlled the game from the start and outshot the SaberCats at least 25-6. Kevin Parry scored the first of his 4 goals, on a pass from James Blount, while we were short-handed, with just over a minute remaining in the first period. Our second goal was a powerplay goal on a shot from the top of the face-off circle, by defenseman Alex Kotval on a cross-ice pass from Peter Strauch. Jonathan Gruber another one in the 2nd frame, assisted by Parry and Blount. Kevin Parry scored 3 more in the third; assisted by gold linemates Gruber on the first, Strauch and Gruber on the second and Marc Chicoine on the third. Sean Fitzpatrick was in goal for the shutout. The team looked good in limiting the time and space the SaberCats had.


Santa Rosa Flyers 3 - California Wave 2

Friday, February 12, 2010 (Santa Rosa): The Wave scored first and we tied it up a minute later to end the first period 1-1. Defenseman Andy Kotval scored on a hard shot from the top of the face-off circle after receiving the face-off won by Max Brownlee. The Wave scored the only goal in the second period, ending that one up 2-1. Max Brownlee scored twice in the third period, both assisted by Marc Chicoine, to give us the win 3-2. Chicoine fed the puck to Brownlee deep in our own zone and he took it from there to score the winning goal. Paul Gregorian was in goal the first half of the game, allowing 2 goals on 10 shots. Sean Fitzpatrick stopped the 5 shots he faced in the second half.
